Foothill Dorms socially dead?

Does anyone know if the foothill dorms are really as boring as they say they are. I'm a math major and foothill is so close, but i heard they are really boring..is it worth a long walk

yeah i'm concerned about this too. I'm trying to decide between Foothills and Unit 1. I'm an engineering major so foothills is right across the street, but the units sounds like so much fun, but I dont want to hurt my gpa.
Is freshman year THat difficult? lol I probably already know that answer...but I can hope =D

My son is in Foothill and it's pretty quiet, according to him. All the friends that he's made are in Unit 2. Still, he likes that he can go over to the more social units and hang out but then come back to a quieter place to sleep, study, etc... He gets a lot of walking in every day! He'll be living in an apartment for his second year; has had enough of dorm life!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.

Foothill students ARE social. But they are not social ANIMALS.

Meaning: They are, in general, a friendly bunch. They like to study together late into the night and during most of the weekend. But don't expect very many of them to drink, engage in sexual activities, or want to leave the general Foothill area to go to a party. Also, don't expect very many parties at Foothill. I know all of this to be true, having lived in Foothill for almost three years now.

hmmmm... i would like to live in foothill coz of the academic atmosphere.... but it's also considerably more expensive than the units.

If you're not a social animal and you're an incoming freshman, I would recommend Unit 1 substance free environment. It's probably better for the freshman experience than Foothill.

nanday,do u live in unit 1 freeborn? Is it a good place to do studying without being distracted too much?

Do certain units really party all the time? i mean it's berkeley people can't be that wild

" i mean it's berkeley people can't be that wild"

And why not?

are there "traditional hallways" that everyone advises freshman to be in (units) here in foothill? how is the hallmate bonding?

oh, and another question, is it really advantageous to be in foothill as an incoming freshman studying in CoE?

foothill is all suites, and many suites are as large as a floor in the units (they range in size from 3-11 rooms). therefore, there are strong bonds formed between those living in the same suite together. as for your second question, foothill is SO much closer to the engineering classes, you'll save yourself a few hours each week

The majority of Foothill seems to be freshmen in the CoE.
