For admits: How many times did you take the SAT I?

<p>As the title says, how many times did you guys take the SAT I?</p>

<p>I took it 3 times...my score went DOWN the second time.</p>

<p>OOPS...my mistake....i didn't see the "for admits" part (i got about 3 hours of sleep)....so jsut disregard my post. at least if you're interested, i got deferred.</p>

<p>Retaking is for pansies. No, I kid, I would have retaken if it weren't for my immense luck under pressure.</p>

<p>technically like 5 times or something... but only twice for real (junior year), the other times were for talent search stuff back in middle school</p>

<p>Well, I've taken it 6 times. Yep, six. I wonder if that's a record. I've taken it once a year from 7th grade (with the Johns Hopkins program for the first 2 years so colleges couldn't see it). So Stanford could see me taking it 4 times. However, this isn't exactly the same as taking it 4 times in the same year or something, so maybe that's why they didn't mind. I really have no idea. Unless you're satisfied with your score and afraid of scoring lower on a retest, I don't see any problem in taking it a second time.</p>

<p>Three times, I ended up using the math from the second one, and verbal on the third for Stany Stan.</p>

<p>twice. I thought my score the first time was decent (1400's), but I'm glad I took it again and improved.</p>

<p>Twice. Why? First time - 1330. Second time (litterally three weeks later because first was a make up day) - 1500. I completely flipped the first time.</p>

<p>Don't take it more than twice (likely more than once if you get what you expected the first time). I had a friend with a 1460 who kept taking it until she got a 1500. Zzzz.</p>

<p>Yeah, I took it three times. I got a 1310, 1320, 1450 (1460 for best). So, scores aren't everything!</p>
