I was just wondering how many times, cus I heard 4 looks awful. 2 is about average, but maybe you all got your desired score in your try. Will having taken it 4 times really hurt my chances?

I only had the chance to take SATs once. And I took all three SAT IIs on one day. If only I had another chance, I know the scores would shoot up.... :sigh:

If only I had Biology Olympiade another day... ;). Come on, they will be aware, that You took it only once.

Hehe right. But then lots of applicants get great scores the first time round... and even if admission committee knows i took them once, that wont mean it will somehow decrease its importance.

By the way, are you Polish? Or somewhere from europe? Coz you write you with a capital Y. :)

Polish. Good point.
I am always writing with big 'Y' when I would like to show politeness :).
And it gives some exoticity for admission commissioners ;'). Jk.

one is bad, b/c it could have been a fluke if it was really high or really low
two is the best and recommended
three is pushing it
four means you are either a perfectionist which they won't like, might be perceived as picky, and unless it has gone up steadily from the other 3 they will wonder why you wanted to take it so many times

two is the best way to go

i took it once.

I took thrice, but I improved each time so I hope it wont matter (1360 -> 1410 -> 1490)

I should take it a fourth time, really :p

2x ---> from 1450 (750 v/700 m) in January '04 to 1520 (800 v/720 m) in May '04.

BTW....I retook a 790 writing, but it was only because I didn't have time to study for the biology I'd planned to take and couldn't cancel 1 test out of 2. I got an 800, but it still looks stupid on paper to retake a 790...I wonder if I should have explained it. I had a really valid reason for not having time to study...ah well.

2x 1480-->1510

Took it 2 timed ,got 1510 both times.

3 x 1440 -> 1490

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiixty, my loove, where be-est thou?

Two times.

1470 (670M, 800V) --> 1480 (680M, 800V)

sigh What a waste of another Saturday morning.

3x's

1400 (690M / 710V) -> 1440 (740 M / 700 V) -> 1490 (740 M / 750 V)

Nice... the last one is my latest breakup too.

I took it once.

I took it 3 times: Math 760 Verbal 630. I will take it again in January I want to improve my verbal score

5 times.

May of Freshman year ~1300
May of Sophomore year ~1400

December of Junior Year~1500
May of Junior year~1500
November of Senior Year -> 1560 (780/780)

I basically used the Freshman and Sophomore tests as a way to familiarize myself with the format. I'd never heard of 10 Real SATs or stuff like that.

I guess 5 times a lot, but I only got serious on the Junior/Senior tests.

Freshman 1300
Sophomore 1400

That senior 1560 was inevitable :p you're in.

Thanks. I can only hope with the rest of you. Though, we'll see pretty soon, won't we?
