<p>Since upenn defers 30% of ED and takes up 10% of that, the chances are obviously low if you are deferred. Compared with the 16% overall rate for the entire admissions combined together, would you say that the deferred candidate has lower chances than the "average applicant," (i know most guys look same on paper anyway)</p>

<p>Also....what is a school just like upenn in terms of dynamics?</p>

<p>I thought about this after I got deferred. It’s like a lottery from now on basically, everyone who got deferred is qualified. At least ED Wharton like 20-30% would have no chance at all, and even then the acceptance rate is 14%/ Basically now 1/10 will make it from a very competitive pool</p>

<p>1/10 for general defer, wharton is probably lower since CAS tends to be somewhat easier? sigh</p>
