If you're not into the party scene, don't worry, you can pretty much ignore it.

So make friends with the professors, get in a lab, fire some lasers, accidentally drop a tool into a superconducting magnet (CLINK.... oh crap), publish some papers, figure out the vibrations in a drum on the blackboard and fill the remaining space with epic stick figure wars. Maybe meet a cute lab partner to do titrations with. In all honesty though, the nerds here throw the best parties, so try going out once.

i wouldnt necessarily characterize myself as a nerd. however, I am not sure whether staying active in the party scene is best for me. if u r not active, does the student body label u as a nerd?

I can’t waiitttttt, Gaze that sounds like soooo much fun! Netsrock, I think he means for this to be those who label themselves more of a nerd. You can still be a nerd and partyish…

Most people here do find a pretty good balance of work and play. If you have a lot of work to do, and you turn down the opportunity to party so you can work, people won’t label you a nerd, they’ll respect you. Takes a lot of willpower to do that!
