You are in no way bound to the major that you indicated on the application, and I don’t believe you have to declare a major until sometime in your sophomore year. Junior year and onward, I wouldn’t think it would be exceptionally hard as long as you still have enough room to get the required credits for graduating with a degree in that major.

I’m pretty sure I put chemistry.

Social science (econ) and math(stats). I would like to double major if possible. If not, then econ.

Indeed.

I might double major in English and History.
If I have a single major, I’m pretty sure it will be one of those subjects.

lol, cause the world needs great sociologists compared to great engineers/mathematicians/biologists/doctors/etc. I’m just saying, it’s amazing you guys are all wasting your potential lol. "

Maybe some of use wouldn’t be great engineers/mathematicians/biologists/doctors.

I personally am just not a science person. I’m ok, but I’m not great. Why would I enter a field I’d be miserable in–thereby wasting my potential in English/history/fields that appeal to me more? With a degree in a humanities discipline I could get a law degree, work for a museum, enter government, work for a non-profit, or go to med school as long as I complete the pre-med requirements. Really, the sky’s the limit. Such degrees are not useless at all.

I don’t think people who choose careers based on some misguided idea of what society “needs” and how lucrative those fields are should go to a school like Harvard anyway.

Blackbanana, I listed you under “Social Sciences” since you seem to have a stronger preference for an Econ major.
