For all the RDers this year: what did you select as your major?

Economics :)

Social Sciences–Classics

Actually, I’m positive that the Classics fall under “Humanities”.

Social Sciences - 12
Humanities - 6
Biological Sciences - 6
Physical Sciences - 3
Engineering - 5
Mathematics - 2
Undecided - 1
Computer Science - 1

I also believe that Classics belongs in the “Humanities” category, so I put you under that instead of Social Sciences.

Sorry, my mistake…everything is blurring together…thank goodness the application process is over! :)

I’m not quite sure what Environmental Sciences & Public Policy is under but that’s what I selected.

Biological Sciences

Social Sciences - 12
Humanities - 6
Biological Sciences - 7 (<---- Couldn’t find Biomedical Engineering)
Physical Sciences - 3
Engineering - 5
Mathematics - 2
Undecided - 1
Computer Science - 1

Do you think it’s easy to switch majors after being accepted? I’m just curious. It’s usually pretty easy at most other schools, but it may be different for Harvard.

^Yes. You don’t even have to declare a major for a couple of years. That’s why they say it really doesn’t matter which major you write down on your app.

Undecidedd :)

Social Sciences - Economics

People switch all the time. This is just a tentative thing. That’s why they don’t take it into account for admissions.

I did economics by the way

^awesome, good to know-thanks guys (:

Updated list:
Social Sciences - 14
Humanities - 6
Biological Sciences - 7
Physical Sciences - 3
Engineering - 5
Mathematics - 2
Undecided - 2
Computer Science - 1

bumppp so others can see/add

Neurobiology. Such a cool program/major. Only school I could find that offered a program of this magnitude and depth with a focus on interdisciplinary study. Next closest was biology and society at Cornell, but it doesn’t have the same focus on the human mind. I really hope I can get in.

Political Science
IR

Humanities- Philosophy

Updated list:
Social Sciences - 15
Humanities - 7
Biological Sciences - 8
Physical Sciences - 3
Engineering - 5
Mathematics - 2
Undecided - 2
Computer Science - 1

Keep on adding (:

Economics is the most popular major, followed by government which is how political science is called at Harvard.

Haha, I’m planning on majoring in economics and having government as my secondary field.
