OK, guys. I don’t know whether or not you have seen my “venting” thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it’s located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC’ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC’ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!

P.S. I am one of these CC’ers who could use this.

My transcript is peppered with a few Cs in grades 9-10. Even my marks in grades 11-12 were not "amazing"; almost as many Bs as As, albeit in an "honours program" (though some of those kids in it were goddamn stupid). It's all about getting the right recommendations, writing honest essays where your personality shines through, and taking a difficult course load while still doing pretty well.

And to the poster above...if you did better than 19-something on your SAT the second or third time you took it (as it seems you imply by your usage of "once"), then Penn really doesn't care about your 19-something. So your situation really counts for nothing here.

hahaha that's hilarious! During my speech, I was so concentrated on having my cap not fall off.

Ditto for that B on a calc test. It was an 85, and thank goodness it never happened again. And I got a B for the quarter in Social Studies in 3rd grade lol

I managed to get a B+ in 2nd semester of senior year (all the rest As)

I got a C+ on a Pre-Calc midterm Junior year... still got an A from the quarter averages and it was awesome because I blew off the midterm and went partying the night before

I once got a 35% on an econ pop reading quiz -- I don't read books they're evil

Once in a major Model UN conference my co-delegate and I got kicked out for being obnoxious. But then... we did make all our points in limerick form and call random rooms at 3 AM to say there was a crisis and they had to go down to committee immediately. No one could prove it was us, but I think most people figured it out.

I also got a C in the first quarter of sophomore English, and became determined to bring that up to an A for my final average. I only managed to pull it up to an 89, and the teacher wouldn't round it up.

The first time I took SATs I didn't study because I wanted to see what needed work. So then I studied, and took them 2 more times. My score went down more than 100 points the next time, so I went home and studied like crazy for a few months so I could take them again. And my score went down another 100 points.

You guys are amateurs...I get plenty of Cs on tests and ****...By the end of highschool I was averaging about 3 Bs a marking period...I got a D on my Euro midterm...I got a C in Bio freshman year cause I turned in two assignments late (still and A for the year though)...I've gotten an A in english for the year only my freshman year...and same deal for history but only my sophmore year...I got a C 4th marking period in spanish junior year and a B for the year...i even got a C on my wind ensemble final junior year....and I know there is more

Crap when I look back on it ALL like that...I slacked like madness
