For anyone applied to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

<p>Hi guys, since there isn't any subforum for Cal state transfers, I decided to make a topic. So do any of us apply to Cal States and got accepted?</p>

<p>So recently I got accepted to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a Civil Engineering Major, I am still waiting for decisions from UCs. I just want to ask is it worth it to spend more money on UCs or should I settle with Cal Poly SLO? And how strong Civil Engineering department at SLO compared to UCI,UCLA, Cal?</p>

<p>Some of my friends told me since it's a BS degree, I should settle with SLO because they have amazing education and prepare you well enough for the industry.(Engineering Undergrads from SLO has an amazingly high rate of employment right after graduation) Some other say if I really want to further my education with a M.S, I should go to good UCs, because they are good with research and high education. I really need your opinion since last day to accept the admission is 30th April and Cal will give out decision just 3 days earlier (27th Apr).</p>

<p>P/S:I tagged to UCI and haven't heard anything back from those guys.. It really makes me nervous and paranoid. Any of you guys in the same situation?</p>

<p>SLO and Cal are all both schools. If your planning on going to get ur masters, then it doesn’t really matter where you want to go ( its just undergrad) . SLO and Cal Engineering Program are par to par i think. Every time i hear about Cal , shortly after SLO follows. It basically boils down to, which campus / lifestyle u like better.
ps. Also if you go to SLO u could get a better GPA for gradschool. I applied for SLO, unfortunately i got waitlisted ><</p>
