I'd like to say, especially for the deferred, that regardless of your decision, God made the best decision for you and for himself. Trust in him and praise the Lord and glory to God!
This is a song I'm listening right now that's really touching and good for both the accepted (final exams) and deferred (I understand).
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase,
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half-done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving is only begun.

CHORUS:His love has no limit, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men,
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth and giveth and giveth again.

even for non-christians, your life will be successful no matter which path you take. if you weren't accepted at a certain college, it means you will end up in ANOTHER awesome college.

same here,,,
It seems like my deferral is an opportunity that God gave me to have more time praying and seeking for His grace.
Cuz, obviously,, if I had been accepted, I would go all jumping around in a craze, reflect for few minutes about how awesome God is, and then forget about Him, rejoicing and going alll wild (=
.. well a lil extreme but can be real true to me.

Over the past months I've been praying to God, "Lord, please direct me and lead me to the college you want me to go."

But at the same time, I had my heart set on Pton.

I believe God is trying to show me something through all this...and thus I'm not discouraged. He knows the best plan for me and I'll just let him work through my regular apps.

OP is quiet right, god has made a good decision only for Christians, he will punish all non-Christians. God will guide the p'ton adcom to reject all non-Christians, he'll make their life miserable. The only way to get into p'ton is to come to Jesus.
