Did it happen to be the people in the dorm rooms right nearby yours? or through a club or class?

I met my closest friends because one was in my class first semester of freshman year, and also lived in my dorm. I then met her friends and we are now all friends.

Honestly just wandering around the first week… I don’t really have classes with most of my close friends and they all live in a different dorm. Then again I do go to a small LAC. Just go out and be proactive. I found a large group of friends right away that I still am having a great time hanging out with. I wasn’t even that social in high school. It just takes a little work.

Other than friends I met at work, I met most of my friends through classes freshman year. Some of us have switched to different major but there’s a group of 10-15 of us that have been close since the first week of school. We’re seniors now and obviously all have our own “other” friends but the group I hang out with the most outside of class and work is those people.

I met one of my good friends at orientation, he was a physics major and I was a math major and everyone else was in communications and marketing. Then he made some extreme comment about physics and math being the only worthwhile majors and then we hit it off. Other than that most of my friends are people whom I’ve had multiple classes with.

All I have to say is…you meet the best people in the randomest ways.

Fire drill. No joke.

The other big one is classes.

The people I hang out with are my roommate, a couple people he knows from his high school, and some people from my floor. Met a couple through class, another by playing video games in the lounge.

at my school people are matched into groups called ‘sponsor groups’ based (to a certain extent) on similar interests, giving you an instant group of friends. We all live right next to each other, which is pretty awesome.

I have also made a lot of other friends from my classes, and people who live down the hall. One of my better friends shares half of his classes with me, we both play violin, and have very similar interests.

Made a few good friends on my floor freshman year, the rest in classes and club/sports activities. Met several people I hang out with through my roommate, he’s from in-state and a lot of people from his HS attend our university.

I knew a few people going in, got to know a few people through them, met a bunch of people through classes, became really good friends with one of my suitemates, met some people through her, and got really involved in a few groups on campus.

Some are from classes. Most (and my closest friends) are people I lived with or near in the dorm.

1) Room/ Hall mates
2) Theater
3) Religious community on campus

1) orientation
2) random places
3) through others
4) class

1) Club sports team
2) Hall/dorm
3) Through my friend (I met her hall/dorm)
4) Other clubs

I met some of my main friends through a summer program. Other friends I’ve met through clubs. When you get involved and have similar interests, you meet people who are like you and it’s pretty easy that way.

1) Volunteer event on the second day there.
2) My major (there are only 45 people in it).
3) The Performing Arts Center.

Most of my friends who are girls live in my dorm, but that isn’t how I met them. It’s just because there are only 3 freshmen dorms, a guys a girls and a coed, so most freshmen girls live in the all girls one, and I would be one of them. My guy friends all live in the all guys dorm.

I have friends in my classes, but most of them I know from the 3 things I listed first. Some of them I met at the overnight, and some at orientation, but they’re not really in my main group.

Intramural sports
Working at Campus bookstore
Friends of friends’ friends

All of my friends are left over from high school. A few of us stayed and went to the local CC, one didn’t go to school, and the other few are still in HS. I made ZERO friends in college, but I’ve always had my little gang to fall back on, until recently… I also hung out with some people from work a couple times… But one night, this guy tried to get me really drunk and have sex with me. I quit work soon after that, thankfully :).

OP: I havent yet and probably never will.
