one of my best friends from college was one of my roommates (random choice). the majority of my best buddies though were from my part-time job.

Dorm, sport

It’s easy to make friends in college

Dorm and fraternity is where I met most of the people I know. We really don’t hang out since our schedules are so different so it’s just doing your own stuff and coming together for frat stuff. I grew to be really independent because of this, but I still wish I had some good friends to party or just chill on the weekends. Usually it’s just small talk and a quick hi if we happen to be in the same room. My major has about 300 kids, and since I’m a transfer really missed that stage where people bond and get to know each other. Plus, the kids don’t seem they want to “add” anyone to their circle of friends (it could be just me).

Friends from high school went here and I met other people through them.

Sad I know but Facebook Group. Like the Purdue Class of 2012 stuff.

Haven’t really made any friends from classes though.

Robbed them.

Club sports team (ultimate frisbee). All of my friends play ultimate; it is awesome.

Don’t have one, but do have random friends here and there from my old HS, chem lab section, dorm, and church fellowship group.

I didn’t meet them.
They met me.

I’m pretty…actually, very outgoing. When I first got here I just introduced myself to everyone and anyone. People thought I was weird, but I didn’t want to be friends with them anyway. The other outgoing people I introduced myself too became close friends of mine pretty quickly, plus people in our hall, and the suffering of Chem 110 has helped make really good friends for the most part.

hahaha thumbs up.

Don’t make friends. You don’t deserve it. People will just ignore someone like you in the clubs.

I met my first friends partly through my roommate (random) who I became great friends with, and her old high school friend who lived on the floor above us. My suitemates were cool too, and one of the first days at school I crashed a floor dinner accidently (that wasn’t my floor) but ended up talking to all the kids there who were really friendly. Some of us ran into to each other at a welcome event (one of those hokey prize/giveaway/game things) and then some drunk/high sophomores told us to follow them to a party and thus we went. Along with us was another group of freshmen (and one of them later became one of our good friends). From then on we hung out all the time, everyday doing all sorts of stuff. The next series of friends I made were predominately from that floor (where I previously crashed the floor dinner), and then a couple kids from classes.

probably in this order
- my dorms and floor
- my friends of friends
- when I repeatedly saw certain people in certain places (parties, gym, cafe etc)
- classes

Facebook and my relaxed classes

My two closest friends in college are my roommate & suitemate. We each knew each other previously, but did not become close until we started rooming.

I met a ton of people (orientation, class, convocation, etc), but I would hardly classify any of these people as “friends”. They were more like fleeting “acquaintances”. This is probably because I saw them once and never saw them again.

Commuter students have it pretty rough when it comes to making “friends” in college.

My best friend is my freshman roommate… we’ve been through a lot, but it’s 3 years later, we live in different countries, and still talk on skype all the time.

Other than that… I did a small seminar program at my university (University of Toronto) andmy group of friends came out of that… people in the program and their roommates, boyfriends, friends from high school, etc.

also, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I don’t know what it’s like at other schools, but it’s pretty small at mine, and the people are awesome.
