My brother is a very good athlete, captian of his teams, that are ranked highly nationally and state-wide. We plan to have him take the June test just to get a feel of the test. Thank you guys for all of your help.

Sailor_Chica: wow, i cannot believe you were WL @ SPS when your a 4th generation legacy. But at least you got the chance to go. How are you liking SPS?

Deerfield is an enigma this year. I believe they don’t do as good a job vetting candidates for the freshman class because they have so many coming in over the years into the other classes including PG’s.
How else could they put my son on the waitlist?":)

^ Agreed. I cannot remember while I was looking at the acceptance list for 2009 anyone who was accepted at Deerfield this year. Well at least as a freshmen. I just thought they were being very very selective. I’m not sure,it remains an enigma.

There have been surprising few headed to Deerfield on this board. At our revisit day there were 70 prospective students, but I’m not sure how many were rising freshman. Others in 2013 headed to Deerfield are hyeonhoy and pinkheart23.

i looove sps, so it was a good decision to come anyway
and not going to lie, having the family thing and continuing a legacy is really cool
i thought i would hate it and i sort of wanted to start my own legacy somewhere else but i’m really happy i decided to come

oh and my grandfather is pretty good friends with the rector or the chaplin or someone on the admissions team or something so he called on march 11th and was angry (while i was just happy i got accepted to other places) and the school said to him that i was a perfectly admittable candidate, there were just too many other people like me
(white, from wealthy town/private school, field hockey/lax, etc) and they had to fill quotas when accepting people but that i was high in the wait-pool or something…
i was scared when i came that i was going to be the stupidest person here because i was last to get accepted but that’s not true-i have lots of friends who were accepted right off the bat that are on academic probation while i’m nicely settled with my 1 HH and 4 H’s…(although i’m still trying to raise them)

At revisit, I recall hearing the accepted number of students was the same this year, but the number of applications had increased 13.4% to 2,060(?). When I called to confirm the contract receipt early this week, the admissions person said yield was “higher” this year and that FA yield was “super high” and “the highest ever by a wide margin.” I have no specifics yet though.
