Hey, I’m Daniel and I graduated last year at the UW studying Computer Science. I know that a lot of you are coming to the UW in the fall, which is very exciting! But, going from high school to college can be tough, especially given current circumstances where everything is moving online. It can be hard to find that friend or upperclassman that you can ask the questions you have to, such as what the dorms are like, what classes to take, how to get into the major of your choice, etc.
So, the UW RSO I mentor with wanted to do something to give back to the community and help people out during this rough time. It’s called Husky Connect! We’re giving the opportunity for incoming Freshmen to get paired up with UW upperclassmen and recent grads either in a small group of incoming freshmen or one-on-one, to give you the chance to ask any questions you have to real people!
And as a part of this program - we’re going to be hosting a series of webinars on different topics that would be interesting to an incoming student, led by some upcoming Sophomores!
The next two will be:
“How to Thrive at UW” (How do I transition from HS, succeed in classes, make friends, etc.)
“Our ‘Best’ Recommendations” (What are the best places to eat, classes to take, places to study, etc)
Here’s a page you can go to for more information: https://■■■■■■■.com/a2fuw2024
Tl;dr - Join Husky Connect to ask a UW Upperclassman any question you’d like, and check out our webinars coming up!
