If you are not taking the course at the school, the school will not allow you to write it in the school. You will have to go another school far away…

^Uh okay…All I’m saying is that it’s a tad ridiculous that there is a thread focused on creating excuses for missing multiple days of school to study for AP exams

Skipping a class or even a day of school is illogical for most of us due to strict parents.

**A much better idea would be to partially ignore the teacher and bring along an AP prep book to read during class. **

This idea is has so many advantages because:

** SOME OF US SIT IN THE FRONT OF THE CLASS AND THE TEACHERS CALL ON YOU BECAUSE MY FRENCH TEACHER CALLS ON US**

Friday, April 30th–I’m planning to skip school on that day. However, it’s legal since it’s a furlough day.

“A much better idea would be to partially ignore the teacher and bring along an AP prep book to read during class.”

Haha, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing in one of my lectures classes :). AND I sit in the front in that class, but my teacher never calls on anybody ;).

So what if she calls on you?? Say you don’t know the answer or even that you weren’t paying attention. The only reason I could think of for not doing this would be if you plan to later ask her for a recommendation. Other than that, what’s the worst that can happen?? You look bad in front of classmates? Your teacher scolds you? I mean she has no right to take points off of your grade, and that should be all that matters.

just study when you get home instead of making stupid (but amusing) threads

I don’t care about looking bad in front of the class or getting scold, but participation in class is required, if you misbehave you will get points taken off, so I am kind of screwed…

Also it is a “he”

Here’s a thought, instead of wasting time to think of excuses to use, why not be productive and start studying? :P

@hotinpursuit - I’ve done it before and it works well in some classes, but not so much in others. Usually teachers notice and tell me to put whatever it is I’m doing away. And if you sit in the front, it’s almost impossible for teachers not to notice…

I don’t think you have to skip school to study for your aps though. There’s still a few weekends left that you could use to cram.

Yeah, I agree with the idea of studying during class. It worked well for me last year, and I’ve already started to make good use of my two non-AP classes this year: Precalc and AP Spanish IV (first year of a two year AP course, so no AP exam this year). Heck, I’ve even started bringing my little US Amsco to the weight room during Gym.

ahh okay. I think participation has disappeared in my classes through the years. It’s all lectures, homework, go over homework next day, lecture and so on. With the occasional tests.

So I don’t mind backing up my homework for every class that much.

My school has a system where if we have perfect attendance for a quarter we get a “platinum” card that gives us a free day off of school…I will definitely be using at least one in the coming week.

I don’t really want to miss my AP class, because we’re revewing, but I will be missing half of the day before and the morning of the ap exam. Because there aren’t that many aps in my school, we technically have to go to class before a 12pm exam. So not happening. My mom will say: headache, fever, bad allergies, slept in, she’s not coming in because she has to study. for the half day: sister sick, have to babysit (worked once before)

Moral dilemma: I’m actually sick (it’s not too bad, but I can’t focus on anything), but I don’t know if I should skip school tomorrow? I REALLY don’t want to miss out on the lecture for AP Bio. I also have a test tomorrow and I have no energy in me to study.

say you were washing your arms
