For People who scored 2400s

Hey guys. This is for everyone actually. lol

Does anyone have advice on how you got perfect in every section. (Other than being super geeky smart)

Math section is fairly easy, but how about CR and WR?

Any advice would be awesome,

God bless,

Steven

There is no real formula. Just keep practicing and hope for a good score.

I don't think studying hard is enough for 2400..

You have to be a good testtaker to begin with, and then you have to practice until you get 2400s on most, if not all, your practice tests.

hmm... is it hard, in your opinion to get 2400s on practise tests... because I have yet to do so...

Does it mean I must score every question correct? (or just 1 wrong?)

You can't get any wrong or omit any on the math. You can miss at most two on the critical reading. The writing section is similar; with a 9/12 essay and 80 multiple choice you can still manage an 800.

BTW, there are much, much better and more fulfilling things to do in life than practicing obsessively to score perfectly on the SAT. A 2300+ score is good enough for any college. After that you need to find a life to look good in admissions committees' eyes.

Does AP English Language multiple choice help on the SAT?

I think it's helped me. My CR score increased 50 points after two months without any prep. But I did my AP Lang homework. ;)

wooo i hope that happens to me too.. :D

it seems AP Lang preps you a lot by making you read way more difficult passages under the same time constraint, so you are forced to read faster and understand better

I got an 800 on the CR (790 M, 770 W) for one reason only: I read! Always have and always will. I did no vocabulary prep and no practice test outside of the PSAT. Memorizing vocabulary without context is worthless and may help you score higher, but will not improve you in any other way. If you really want a perfect score, read everything you can get your hands on; you can get grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension all in one package. It's better for you anyway.

I don't want to study for SAT all day... It's so boring... I running a business.

I agree completely with gonewithfergus. That and five years of Latin are probably the most helpful things one can do.

I haven't gotten my scores, but I am a grammar nazi, and therefore answered every single practice grammar question correctly in all 8 practice tests I took. I also got a 12/12 on all of my essays (well I scored two by myself, but all six taken online were scored 12/12.)

The verbal is an issue of really paying attention and focusing. Honestly, DO NOT RUSH EVEN IF IT SEEMS EASY. The questions are worded purposely to trick you. Slowing down improved my score from a 740 average in my first 4 tests to two straight 800s in my last two tests.

I have no idea about math. I suck at it. I never got above a 780 in the math section, and my average was like 750.

practice. seriously. my friend got 2340 by just practicing everything. no tutor or anything and she's not superly geeky.

i improved from 680 to 780 on the writing after a few tests just try to see the question patterns.

goodl uck!

The SATs are like a game of darts. You practice and practice and you still may not hit a bulls-eye. However, people will sometimes just randomly get lucky and hit the bulls-eye..

It is all luck man. I could have scored anywhere from 2250~2400 on the day. I just got lucky.

I got a 2400, but its real pointless i think its luck. I took the test twice. got a 2160 and the 2400 and on my psat I got a 208 so there is really no correlations between my grades
