i emailed the office and they wrote me this.

"Hello xxmsp91,

Financial aid is disbursed when you have a minimum of 6 units (most students enroll for more than that). The TOTAL of your Fall quarter grants is $xxxx.xx It will pay your mandatory fees first and any financial aid after fees are paid, will pay housing or any other charges on your UCSD Billing account.

You can view your online UCSD Billing Account on TritonLink under the FINANCE tab, Billing and Payments, View Bill, View Current Account Activity. Currently it shows you owe $xxxx.xx.

If there is any remaining financial aid, the Student Business Services Office will refund the funds directly to you beginning on September 23. You can contact them at StudentBusiness@ucsd.edu

Contact the office to speak with one of the counseling staff if you have additional questions."

so there ya go. i thought some ppl might have wanted to hear more about this.

you already received some? wut the. i didnt get anything yet lol. i dunno man. that email is all they gave me. how did u get ur aid? is it in ur bank account?

because, the only thing that i can see that i clearly got is the loan. my balance on my triton link dropped by the amount of my subsidized loan. is that what ur talking about?

hmm thats weird. who told u it would be out tommorow? cuz the financial aid office just wrote me that, “If there is any remaining financial aid, the Student Business Services Office will refund the funds directly to you beginning on September 23”

I believe I heard it from multiple sources on CC. Financially aid was purportedly added in TritonLink Tuesday night - Wednesday morning. So just check back tomorrow to see if its there.

Got mine also. Now a negative number. We don’t have to do anything right? Just wait till the 19th w/o doing anything and then the rest will be deposited to our bank accounts?

my roommmate received her financial aid and she used to owe about 6000 and now they are down to zero and she has negative amount of money, which means they are extra? She called them and that was what they said. The steps that xxmsp91 wrote about going to bill/account etc is the correct way to check if you received ur aid, cos that’s how my rommmate checked hers. I also heard that your aid comes out depending on your enrollment date. My roommmate’s enrollment date was the 1st. Mine was the 3rd, which is why I haven’t received mine yet. Please correct me if i’m wrong and please add more infos on the things that you hear. Btw, they never pick up their phone even in their office hours.

Now my question is: Recently, as in few weeks ago, they sent me to redo the MPN when my cal grant B changed to cal grant A. But my checklist for MPN already had the checkmark for my previous MPN. Do i have to redo this? I’m scared that this may be the other reason if my aid doesn’t come out any sooner. I heard that that e-mail was just a general announcement for those who never did MPN

guys! my balance is zero now!!! woot! just now! after posting up a comment here! check if you guys see any changes cos my enrollment date was the 3rd and it’s already gone!

actually… i still have no idea. My balance on the first page of tritonlink says zero. I go to ‘view your current activity’ and i did get my aid and all but the adjusted amount due is negative number. What is that mean. my rommmate said that’s an extra money but I calculated my aid and my owed money, I shouldn’t have any extra money left, instead I should pay about 1000 more to pay all the owed money even with my aid/grants.

i’m pretty sure i got almost a full ride and it says i owe $44 and i’m still wait listed for 2 classes. doesn’t it go up as you register for more classes? i know i don’t have $44 let alone however much it’s going to go up after i register for the rest of my classes. i hope there’s more aid that has yet to be disbursed or something.

So… Do I pay first for all my fees and then get the check as a reimbursement? Or does the money automatically go towards my bill and I’ll get a check if there is extra?

Sorry, I really have no idea how it works -___-x

The financial aid money gets disbursed into your student account first to pay your tuition and fees. If there is any money left over, it will be sent to your personal bank account starting September 23. Hope this answers your question.
