I plan to major in actuarial science. I'm instate and UMN gave me a scholarship that brought the cost down to slightly less than $5000 per year. However, UMN does not exactly have the best actuarial science program. I am debating between the low cost, big size, and slightly lower quality program of MN versus the higher, but still reasonable, cost (got a scholarship the makes the cost about $10500 per year) and smaller size of Drake that has one of the best programs in the nation for actuarial science.

did u apply to uw-madison? Ik they have an awesome acturial science prgram

I did and I got in. However, Drake's program is better than Madison's for about the same cost since Madison doesn't give scholarships to freshmen. Plus, Madison does not let you start in the business college. You must apply for sophomore year and I prefer to start right away. Also, I would prefer to go some place the is smaller. I decided if I did go to a large school, it would be Minnesota since I live about a half an hour away and the cost would be $5000 less than Madison.
