theoneo: Which version are you referring to ? I'm using Adobe Reader 7.0, and it doesn't seem to let us write on the forms ( It may enable , but what a shame when I have to confess that I'm a computer-illiterate :D ). I downloaded a couple of forms from Commonapp site several days ago, and have tried since but it has panned out be a futile attempt :(

Btw, how many schools have you guys plumped for ? My list is currently a total mess. Is anyone up the same creek ?

hey freshelephant, same here. 15 schools. Even though we only need to write one common app essay, how are planning to do the 15 other "supplemental" essays? Any quick advice?

For those who want to do the editable PDF for the commonapp, why don't you just fill out the online one and do the print/preview command? Wouldn't that be the same thing as printing out the PDF?

Why would anyone handwrite their apps anyways? The world of online makes everything so much easier for us AND the schools :) Plus, you can track them more easily... and if it gets lost... well, just resend! :P

Well I'm just traditional, and I really don't trust the internet anyway so I just did everything by mail, though I'm happy with how everything turned out so I wouldn't bother to have done anything different if given the opportunity :D

i'll run the risk of losing my apps because i find handwritten apps much easier. i don't have to worry about misfilling a text box or forgetting my password or anything like that. also, since i plan to attach some additional information, it's a lot less awkward to have everything on paper instead of having some info online and some info on paper.

Reed is one of the schools where commonapp supplement comes in pdf and you can't seem to write on it. I talked to the adcom who said they wanted us to mail the supplement in. Don't know how this applies to other schools.

U Penn is a lovely campus in the middle of an ugly and none too safe part of Philadelphia, which is particularly problematic if you live off campus. If that bothers you at ALL -- go visit and walk around at night before choosing to go there. Like all of the Ivies, it also have its own unique and distinctive style and feel, as does Philadelphia.

Does anyone know if my first semester grades of senior year are going to be calculated into the GPA (for regular action)? If so, when are they supposed to be sent?

Can you apply online with a fee waiver? Does anyone know how that would work?

Your high school has to send a midyear report as part of your application. It includes your first semester grades and any other updates since the school report.

FreshElephant: I'm now not quite positive about this but as far as I understand, we may include a fee waiver in the package sent to schools via mail. I will sure cross-check, for I need to make use of the fee waiver, too.

Hehe, Jimmy, I just read your review of Princeton. Panera is across from Nassau Hall, not Firestone. You silly. :p AND PARKING IS TERRIBLE! You must have low expectations! But you somehow weren't pleased with the bumpiness of the roads? I never heard of that before... =P

But yes, the trees and squirrels are very calming.
