I've visited pton a couple time, I liked the campus, it's very soothing, but some of the architecture clashed horribly and the interior of some buildings made no sense. But I still liked it.

(Response to the talk a page back)

I could type on the supplement forms (I think I tried the Princeton one a while back) but I couldn't save the information I typed on it. So the next time I do it, I'll have to type and then print.

Oh just wondering, do we have to send all the supplements by mail? Is there no way to submit them online?

Anyway, I have to get busy!

You can submit most supplement online. Login to commonapp.org and click on the Supplements tab.

Bumpity bump bump.

I visited Cornell today and loved it. Too bad they have ED. That's just not how I roll.

How are the apps coming?

I now have like 25+ schools on my list now, and the number is escalating fast at an average rate of 3 new schools/day. Huh? I never realized that you need to fill out stuff in order to go to college...

Hey fellow probably incredibly stressed out soon-to-be seniors. =P

I'm the same way, Jimmy, everytime I go visit a school or read about it I'm just kind of like, oh, that sounds nice, I could be happy here... too many options!

Wow, you guys definitely remind me of me. You know basically everytime I looked at a list I was like ahh I could see myself there, until I reached a point, well basically when I got a list of 50+ colleges I sort of thought wow, there aren't 50 of me so I really should get it down to a smaller amount and by some miracle I went to 19 and then 12. And don't worry, over time you'll realize which one's you'll truly enjoy attending, so good luck :D

I have quite a list of schools I like too and have no idea which to apply EA/ED to.. At least I am not alone though :)

What is really worrying me is standarized testing. I am a HORRIBLE test taker in general. I scored pretty okay on my first try at the SAT I in May of this year in CR and W but my math was terible! I am bad at math in general, so add that plus me going into panic mode during the test = bad score. :( However I do quite well in my classes. So will colleges see that I am a good math student but a horrible test taker? Hopefully the schools I apply to don't place a lot of value on the SAT anyways.. Anyone have any tips for a panicky test taker? ><

Also, should I take the SAT IIs? I am very ambitious (this can be a curse sometimes..) and some schools on my list require them (cough Princeton, cough Tufts).

You guys are making me feel so inferior with all your academic summer programs XP! I could only go to a collegebound program my city offers for 6 weeks. You don't earn any credits, but it does prepare you... Also, I couldn't afford/travel to all those summer things at colleges and places that sent me those nice envelopes.. Plus, I have to stay at home and help and babysit -.-'

Eeek sorry for the long post. Just a senior anticipating a crazy fall.

I cut my list of 15 down to 14! Oh but I added Williams to the list, so now it's 15 again...SIGH

I'm taking out Georgetown and Tufts, and maybe Brown. That leaves me with 11!

Hey I'm working on my EA school's supplement online right now. Does this mean that I can't work on the supplements of the schools that I'm applying to RD, because when I submit the commonapp it goes to every school on my list?

Change your "my colleges" list on your commonapp account to only have your EA school if you want the application to only go to your EA school. Well, that's for the main part. The supplements are each submitted separately.

Thanks!

And I would just like a quick confimation: MIT requires that you take Physics in high school right? (I think that was in Form 2?)

I'm not sure if it's required, but they ask you when you've taken it, as well as Calculus, biology, and chemistry. Or something like that.

I guess I'm a little late to join this thread, but I really really wish I had a lot of schools like you guys. So far, I've got about 3 schools I'm seriously considering applying to: 2 super-competitive ones and then our big public university in-state. I think I need to stop being so picky

I have your problem, zpmqxonw. I have exactly 2 schools I'm applying to: Oklahoma (match & National Merit) and South Carolina (saftey due to fin aid). My problem is that my major (meteorology) is not that common. As a matter of fact, I don't think any of the Ivies offer it. Not that I could get in, but... that's another forum. Anyway, I'd better quit rambling.

trvsdrlng

I did a little search for you, and based on college board the following schools [though not limited to just these] offer meteorology:

Central Michigan University
Cornell University
Florida Institute of Technology
Penn State Schuylkill - Capital Collge
Penn State University Park
Penn State Wilkes - Barre
SUNY at Oswego
SUNY at Brockport
Suffolk County Community College
University of Hawaii at Manoa
University of Miami
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
University of Oklahoma
University of Utah
Western Illinois University
Western Kentucky University

So I guess you have one Ivy, and I'm sure there must be some schools that really specify in meteorology though I have to be honest and tell you I'm totally clueless on this subject, so good luck :D

That was such a NICE THOUGHTFUL HELPFUL thing to do! AWESOME! Kudos, Kudos, Kudos!

Hello seniors! I was wondering about this site from the junior year. Only today I found it. Good job you all. Time to get started. I have 14 schools to work on so far. Need to cut 2 more 12 is a good number

Lol, I'm working through my college list the opposite way. I started with the schools I'm definitely applying to without a doubt (Stanford, UCs, Rice, Yale) and kept on adding...and adding...and adding. lol. I think I'm up to 14 right now. Luckily, though, 6 of those are UCs and most of the privates have overlapping essays/supplements. :]

My list vacillates between 13 and 16, and my counselor says we're only allowed to apply to 8 or 10. I'm too indecisive (and in love with every school on my list) for this!
