When do admissions decisions usually come out by?

They say Jan. 30 - March 30.... pretty big range, but what is it generally come to?

well, as far as I know, it's different for each school. Depends on the way you apply as well, though. I would say that unless you're a shoe-in or it's rolling decision, most of the replies won't come until march.

Ugh I know, kind of an annoyingly big range but I would say the general rule of thumb is that you will hear back closer to Mid-march

My application was totally complete in mid September. My scores are pretty good, 32 ACT, 2010 SAT, 94.80 GPA. I feel confident that I've got a good chance at getting in, but do you think my decision will come earlier rather than later? I'd love to find out about that and scholarships ASAP as McGill is my first choice by lightyears. I am from the US just incase.

I know someone who applied from the US last year and he said that he applied in early Nov and heard back late Jan-early Feb so I think that range is correct

some as soon as jan 11 (drexel)
or some as late as april 15...or as they say

i was looking at last years' students' admittance stats, and they were accepted around mid february...i applied in september too and am so nervous.

They are doing applications as of now. My status was just changed to "Further Review Required." All I need is my midyear transcript for them to make a decision. And this was just in the last day or two.

Decisions are near!

i got everything in by late october and i was accepted today which is sorta weird cause it does say jan 30-mar 30 on the website. but it is true - if you applied wayy before the deadline, decisions are definitely near!! good luck everyone!!!

congrats man^

and they have a policy of letting americans know by the end of Feb... the march 30 deadline applies only to canadians outside of quebec and foreigners (i think)

^^
did you apply for any major scholarships?

I think I'll get my decision next week... They were just waiting on midyears which I sent in at the beginning of the week. They were sent to all of my schools at the same time and all of my US schools have already processed them and whatnot so I figure a few extra days for McGill... maybe tomorrow. I really hope I get a major scholarship... if I get one I'll almost certainly go...

yeah they want my midyear too :/

ZFanatic - i applied for a major scholarship but i won't hear about that for probably a week or two. scholarship decisions don't come out the same time as admissions...

how do we apply for the major scholarships? is there a separate application or its the same as the admission application?

There's a separate major scholarship application.

When you apply to McGill they give you an ID and a PIN, and when you log onto the site there's a link for the electronic application.

Mine says "further review required" as well. It says that they have not received my midyear report. This is starting to worry me. All the other schools my guidance counselor sent reports to have acknowledged receiving them. It's been a couple of weeks.

most likely its only because they have so many applicants. they way it works is as soon as they read your mid year transcript they decide whether theyll accept you or not.

Mine is the same way... I guess it's just because they have a lot to process. All of my other schools have processed my transcript within days of sending it, but it seems like McGill does take longer to process stuff.

What on the transcript would get you admitted/not admitted? On mine I had a B's in my 3 AP classes (AB Calc, Bio, and Eng Lit), and 2 A's in my other two classes. I hope that doesn't kill me. lol.

no way they are only considering Senior grades for U.S. applicants right?

just got in today! im from BC Canada though

good luck to all you americans :)
