For those of you who take 5+ AP classes in a year

<p>I generally seem to have less homework than the average person, but I also have a terrible work ethic:</p>

<p>AP Lit - 15-20 minutes a night.
AP USH - 15 minutes a night.
AP Latin - 25 minutes a night.
AP Environment - 20 minutes a night.
AP Stat - 10 minutes a night.</p>

<p>Of course those times are only on average. As for EC's, I spend about 2 hours on Key Club each week, 4 hours for other less important clubs each week, and right now I'm playing tennis, so I don't get home until 5:30-8.</p>

<p>AP Econ: last semester, but I had 15 minutes of homework
AP Gov: No homework except 15 minute current events on Wednesdays, and study for the 100-page chapter tests
AP Psych: No homework except random essays (~2/month) and do notes/study for chapter tests
AP Physics: 10 minutes of homework, but labs take hours and hours to do</p>

<p>ECs: TA for AP Chem 2.5 hours a week, attend officer meetings, work 8 hours a week, Special Olympics (it's competition season now) and that's it. I had a lot more ECs and 5 APs last year, which made life hell.</p>

<p>I like my classes. They don't bother you with busy work that wastes time. It's basically reading the chapter/class notes and that's basically it, since tests are 80% of your grade. And my school has a ridiculously high percentage of getting 4s and 5s on AP exams, so this method works.</p>

that kind of schedule ... to do in healthy way

</p>

<p>those two don't go together</p>

<p>Large public school, ~2400 students, 20+ APs offered (I think).</p>

<p>Senior year:
AP English Literature: First semester = 3-5 hours every night (...this is with decent time management). Second semester = 0.5 - 1 hour every night.
AP Micro/Macro: For both, 2 hours before quizzes/tests. 15 minutes for homework.
AP French Lang: What a joke. 30 minutes before tests.
AP Euro History: Slacker class. 2 hours before tests.
AP Physics: 4 hours before tests. 2 hours on webassign if applicable.</p>

<p>ECs: Usually get home at 6 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from ECs.</p>

<p>Sleep ~2 AM. I write, and most of my inspiration comes between 12 and 2, so... Time management skills are decent; was a bad procrastinator until last semester when AP Lit forced me to give up on my procrastination tendencies. Otherwise, I would not have gotten any sleep at all. Also, I nap 2 hours after I get home from school. :)</p>

<p>1200 students; 15-20 AP Classes. </p>

<p>AP Bio - 30-60 mins/night; had an outline due every class.<br>
AP Chemistry - 0-30 mins/night; Didn't do any homework, just had to pay attention in class
AP Environmental - 30 mins/night; outline due every class
AP Java - 0 mins/night; hated java.
Molecular Bio - 30 mins/night; counted as an AP class since reqs are AP Bio/Chem, but only really had labs due about once a week.
AP Econ - 0-30 mins/night; depending on whether i have an exam or not
AP English - 1-2hrs/night; paper due once a week, reading every night.<br>
AP Euro - 30 mins/night; just some reading. </p>

<p>AP Bio - B+
AP Chemistry - B+
AP Environmental - A-
AP Java - B
Molecular Bio - B+
AP Econ - B+
AP English - B
AP Euro - A</p>

<p>I'm from a school with about 2000 kids. I'm currently taking 4 AP classes my Junior year, and I will be taking 6 AP classes my senior year.</p>

<p>AP Psychology-1 Hr of hw each night
AP English Language composition-1.5 hrs of hw each night
AP U.S History- 2 Hrs of hw each night. Insane teacher no one has an A :P
AP World History-30 mins of Hw each night</p>

<p>I doubled in AP history this year:</p>

<p>AP Art History
AP European History</p>

<p>I absolutely love both classes because I have always enjoyed learning about history, it helps me when the art is from the same time period that I'm studying in AP Euro, but I get the information mixed up sometimes...does anyone else have this problem?</p>

<p>Those of you taking 5 or more aps are pretty amazing. The amount of homeworks seems like it's a lot. I could never stay focused for more than 1-2 hours at a time. Rarely can I do 3 or more hours.</p>

<p>APUSH- Don't often do my homework in there, but it would take about 45-90 minutes a night if I did do it.
AP Psych- about 30 minutes or so if I do it daily (all we have is a vocab list which she gives us to do as we read along with the book.) It takes about 3-4 hours if I procrastinate and do it all the night before (which is what usually happens).
AP Stats- nothing, he gives us about 5-7 homework assignments each nine weeks and I do about 3, ace the tests, and get an A in the class
AP Bio- nothing really, he tells us to read the chapters of the book, which we cover about 1 every week, but he doesn't enforce it so I've only read about 5-7 chapters of the book
AP English- we get assigned books which we have about a week or so to read, which I finish in a night, and other than that we just have one study guide question to answer every other night (about ten minutes to do). I usually just do my question when others are answering theres.</p>

<p>Most AP classes are a joke at my school. We offer about 12 supposedly (each year they only offer about 9 of those). My school has about 2000 students, but only about 400 have even taken a single AP.</p>

<p>HW is usually pretty light in my AP classes (Im taking 6 this year):</p>

<p>AP World: Reading takes about 45 minutes
AP English: Reading takes about 30 min (if I decide to do it....haha)
AP Calc BC: No Hw (but a couple hours on the day before a test. Or now that its second semester, maybe just 15-20 minutes the day of the test haha)
AP Spanish Lit: 15 minutes of reading
AP Stat: ranging from 10-25 minutes a night
AP Biology: No hw, unless I'm writing up a lab (about once every couple weeks) or doing a major cram session before a test.</p>

<p>So basically, about 2 hours of hw a night on a normal night. On a night with a lab/paper/test the next day, I pretty much dont sleep. Fun times!</p>

<p>My school has 30 APs and about 2000 students (but it's 7-12). Most of them don't seem to give a lot of homework to me, but we have high passage rates. I admit, I'm only taking 4 this year, but I'm taking 6 (one self studied, 5 at school) next year.</p>

<p>AP Art History: not nightly, but maybe once a week there's a 3+ hour assignment, usually done over 2-3 days. I don't study for tests, but I almost always get the highest score in all the classes.
AP English: Basically none. When essays are assigned, maybe an hour. Maybe 3 hours for a paper. I have the easy teacher who gives no work but has a higher passage rate. The other teacher gives a ton of work and has a slightly lower passage rate.
AP Human Geography: Basically none. Maybe once a week a 30 minute assignment (reading or worksheet). The night before tests, 3+ hours, but that's only vocab and essay prep, since I don't really read, I just skim.
AP Calculus BC: Maybe 1.5 hours a night. Tests are quire rare, but I usually study a lot for them.</p>

<p>Next Year:
AP English: If I get the teacher I don't want, there will be busy work, but either way, there's not that much work in English
AP Chem: It'll be about 1-1.5 hours 3-4 nights a week, and a lot of studying for tests and quizzes.
AP Physics: About 1-1.5 hours a night, <em>tons</em> of studying for tests, but because of the double bell system, the two classes won't have any tests or quizzes on the same day as Chem.
AP World Hist: Reading assignments about once a week that take 3+ hours, spread out over 2 days optimally
AP French: None, basically. If I ever have it, it'll take me less than 5 minutes. French is way too easy.
AP Psych: Self study. Just reading and the teacher will give me tests whenever they take them in class. About 1 hour a week, but I might decide to copy notes from my friends who take the class, so that'll add a bit of time, but will probably be done during school.</p>

<p>Division of outside of school time:
About 12 hours of ballet a week. It'll be 2.5 hours most nights Mon-Th and Saturdays.
During the winter I ski all day on Thursday (will have to skip ballet) and get home at about 10 PM.
I tutor on Saturday mornings all 2nd semester. Basically, I'm busy on Saturdays until 5.
I have about 3 hours of community service a week.
I have one piano lesson a week and I practice about 2-3 hours a week. I also practice viola about 1 hour a week.
Hopefully my parents will let me take glassblowing or oil painting next year (were too daunted by extra ballet costs this year), and that would be 2 hours a week.</p>

<p>I don't sleep much. It's not healthy.</p>

<p>Yay. I have 6 APs this year. Really not a big deal though.
AP Macroeconomics - NOTHING this class is ridiculously easy so I didn't do any of the homework/reading/whatever.
AP US Government - ehh.. prolly 30 minutes of reading a night, but I don't ever do it soo.. idk.
AP Latin Literature - I do most of the translations and whatnot during other classes, but I can translate at least 10x faster than the guy who sits next to me (lol, just for reference ;]) so I dunno how long the work usually takes. I need maybe 10 minutes a day, I suppose.
AP Calculus BC - Ehh, 10 minutes homework a day? Maybe? At the most. I do this mostly during other classes, or in between classes, too.
AP Euro - OHHHHHHHHH EURO. Hmm. At least an hour of reading each night, and he piles on the reading right before tests so it's not really good to get behind, lol, maybe 2 hours a night around test time.
AP Lit/Comp - mm.. I don't include reading actual novels in "homework time" so none, but if you include that, maybe several hours a week, I read quickly though, I dunno.</p>

<p>YAY THAT POST WAS USELESS SINCE I DON'T DO ALL MY HOMEWORK! :]</p>

<p>And I wake up at <6am, and usually get 6 hours of sleep. ECs include going out to dinner and watching movies (damn, maybe THAT's why I don't get much sleep! lol), softball, tennis, volunteer tutoring, private tutor job thing, viola, piano, whatever else.</p>

<p>I'm currently a junior. Our school has approximately 1600 students and offers most of the APs except for AP Environmental Science and AP Art I believe.</p>

<p>AP French - 1 to 2 hours
AP Physics - I probably spend about 3 hours every night trying to understand the physics curriculum. argh
AP Comp Sci - Hardly any homework. at most 5 hours a week
AP USH - A lot of essays, but I guess it depends on your teacher.
Multivar - 1 hour but math is not my best subject, so I guess it varies.</p>

<p>Wow I'm jealous of you guys who take AP Chem and not have much homework. Last year, I took AP Bio and AP Chem, and I spent a minimum of three hours studying every night just for those classes.</p>

<p>AP US: haha, depends on if i ever go to class (zero period)
AP Stat: Maybe 10 minutes a day, never study for tests
AP Phys B/C: I never do any hw since its not in the grade. tests are relatively easy though
IB Lit 1: Maybe an hour or two normally. my most annoying class
IB Econ: nothing usually, since its just notes
IB Spanish: nothing ever</p>

<p>normal schedule, short tuesdays.</p>
