For those rejected from UCLA

not very competitive lulz.

well... not competitive compared to ucs..

most of my friends got into usc for business, but not ucla

at first i was all emo about getting rejected from ucla. not because i wanted to go there but because i thought it meant for sure rejection from berkeley. Then i remembered someone from my school got rejected from ucla but got into berkeley so there's still hope for us. wishing for the best for us. berkeley is my dream school.
by the way who here got the supplemental questionaire from berkeley but not one from ucla and rejected there?

D got supplemental from Cal, admitted to Cal Fall, no supplemental UCLA, rejected UCLA

From what my counselor tells me, I was competitive enough.

Still hope for Cal, a bunch of kids were rejected from LA and went to better schools like Cal, Northwestern, and even a kid to Harvard.

I'm just praying I have that kind of luck.

gg!!!! luck

A kid got rejected by UCLA and got into Harvard???

Ever heard of legacy? It's how private schools ensure generations of alumni endowments.

I got rejected to UCLA sadly and accepted to all other UCs
even though i got cal supplemental questionnaire i can barely keep my hope up..
and im still waiting for USC feels like an rejection letters getting closer and closer everyday:(
maybe i'll just stick with SD...its still a decent school..heh..

i heard USC hasnt sent out most of their letters yet. so dont lose hope!

thanks huliaj..i'll try:)

Never loose hope, even if it's a speck of hope

Hope is the first step down the road of disappointment.

also about the kid who got into harvard but not ucla, he/she could also be an urm. UCLA is not allowed to practice AA, but schools like harvard most definitely do.

I got the supplemental questionnaire from Berkeley and not UCLA. I got rejected to UCLA. Everyone I know got into UCLA who applied; I'm basically the only person that got rejected. I even know a girl who got rejected from Davis, got winter quarter at San Diego, and got into UCLA. I got into davis and got into impacted bio major at san diego, and got rejected from UCLA. It makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense. Different colleges look for different things.

^
.
yep

what exactly is a supplemental or a likely letter?

I don't know if i've gotten either, is that pretty much a sign that i didn't get in?

no, these two things are for a sliver of all accepted students. Most get neither but will hear good news on Thursday.

If I have a UC GPA of 3.86, HS (10-11) GPA of 4.15, a SAT I score of 2240, and did not receive a supplemental, does this mean I'm out? I think someone on this board with a 3.5 GPA and a 2000+ SAT received a supplemental...

Supplemental is only if you're on the borderline. Those stats may or may not be considered borderline this year.
