I have the real act book (the one w/ the 3 tests)
and then I'm thinking of getting the barrons (for reviewing the material)
and act for dummies, and then practicing questions on the act website (they have tons). So I'll probably do tons of practice tests and problems from those books and the website.

is there any book i am missing that u think i should get?
also how did YOU guys study? any tips for certain sections, or generally?

thanks so much everyone lol sorry for all the questions!!

I got a 34 and only used the official ACT book thing.. as for tips, I would take special care to practice the science section. It's the one that gets (almost) everyone. It's also the reason I didn't get a 35 (grr).

Just make sure you time yourself on the practice tests, and you should get a decently accurate prediction of your scores. Good luck!

IMO, getting a 34+ is all about being REALLY careful. make sure you have that timing down...so PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. i took so many practice tests it was ridiculous. and then it's just all about being careful. i caught myself on 3 stupid errors for the math section in december. would have cost me my 36 in math and my 34 overall LOL.

good luck. seems like you're going a good job :)

I scored a 34 my first time with no prep classes or books. However, I read A LOT. Reading boosts your speed, so time won't be an issue, and vocab words will stick much better than with straight memorization. These tests are mostly just reading speed and comprehension.
