For Transfering: Drop Class or get a bad grade?

I applied to transfer for fall 2016 for the English program after being waitlisted last year, my current GPA is a 3.6 and I had to send in my high school transcripts (1790 superscored SAT and 90 average) since I only took one semester of classes of 13 credits and 12 AP credits. I currently have 15 credits for this semester and took up an accounting class which I thought I could handle, but apparently I cannot. I can’t decide if I stick with the class and get a C+, which will hurt my GPA, or drop the class and only have 12 credits but a good GPA. I’m scared that if I stick with the class it will hurt my chances of being accepted since it is already difficult to get into the English program. What should I do?

One C+ probably won’t hurt you if you got a 3.6 your first semester; I’d say hang in there and do your best.
