When you “claim the account” it asks for the last 4 of the student’s SS#. Since the SS# is not on the common app, that site will only work if you have already applied for FA. So if you haven’t (yet) I don’t think it will work.
@lauren05 @BayArea123456 you gotta go on My.fordham.edu and “claim” your account or something like that, and then check your financial aid page
@chrizzlec did you file your FAFSA and CSS for financial aid?
My portal says they haven’t yet reviewed some documents I submitted. Do you think this hinders my ability my get a full tuition scholarship, or is there a possibility that I may find out later (in a few days)?
Which one should we be checking our applicant status on?
@DuelingGloves yeah I’ve had them in since October but my scholarship was merit based so I’m not sure if it matters
@chrizzlec when I had emailed Fordham regarding the CSS profile a month ago they had indicated they would need my information for any aid, financial or merit. However, I don’t know if it’s different for people who didn’t apply for financial aid.
@blountwil2 @tingdad Did you/your son have a very high ACT? Or what were your/his stats?
I have no messages for financial aid on the portal. However, I just claimed my account now… would that have something to do with it?
It says that it’s unable to access external system what does that mean I’m scared
Ok I got it to work but it doesn’t say anything it just says it received my documents
@quoderatuhhh I have a 35 act and 4.5 gpa along with National Merit Semifinalist
@DuelingGloves I’m in the same situation as you. my parents told me to not do the CSS profile because i won’t get any financial aid but now I’m worried that i needed it for merit aid.
@itry2hard yeah you needed to file the css even to get merit aid
It says to enter the last five digits of your fordham id number if they don’t have your SS number on file, but that still didn’t work for me…
I tried to enter last 5 digits of reference number from fordham portal but didn’t work for me. I couldn’t find anything called fordham id number on the portal either… From where will I get this fordham id number?
So my non Custodial parent still hasn’t filled out the NonCustodial Parent PROFILE, and idk when they will because I’m not in contact with them. It’s the only thing missing according to the financial aid portal. I need this document to receive any aid and I’m freaking out because idk when my non Custodial parent will fill this form out. If they filled it out tomorrow, is it automatically calculated and will my financial aid be available assuming I get in?? Also, where on the portal did you all find your admissions decisions?
does the letter that says, “we would like to move forward with your financial aid…” have any relevance to the likely letters that everyone has been getting???
I don’t think so @sb9916 I received the same letter, but I’ve heard that it has no relevance in determining our admissions decisions. I am hopeful, though, that it’s a good sign.
The moving forward letter was from financial aid enrollment group. I believe it indicated admission. Otherwise, there is no point of moving forward.
@tingdad I really hope so. I don’t want to jinx myself, so I’m just going to not think about it haha. When do you all think admissions decisions will be released? I’m getting so anxious. I don’t want to have to wait until next Monday. I’m hoping we hear by Friday.
