Does anyone have any experience with studying abroad as part of their Fordham education? How easy/hard is it to get approval, transfer credits, etc? Do the merit scholarships go with you? Do you pay the same tuition at the abroad school? Is it a hassle working with the Study Abroad program office? How many students REALLY go abroad (percentage)?

I am currently a Sophmore and in RHS here at Fordham. I plan on studying abroad next year so I have not had any experience yet. But to my knowledge everything transfers over as if you were going to Fordham in a different country. As faculty has been telling us recently as long as you meet the grade requirements and take the application process seriously you should not have a hard time being accepted into the program of your choice. I am not quite sure how Study Abroad Office is but I know that you can pretty much go to any country you would like to go. Although Study Abroad is a fascinating option, I do not think there is an alarming number of students who study abroad but it is definitely on the rise.

I think about 38% of students study abroad at some point.

I don’t think its that high at Fordham, but I could be wrong. Anyone have official stats on Fordham study abroad?

My daughter did study abroad, the office at fordham is great, they are part of several programs and many kids do it. the cost depends on the school you are attending abroad, housing etc., if the program is one that Fordham uses, your scholarships will transfer, as well as loans etc

I think that stat includes those who study abroad during the summer. Not sure though
