Fordham or Syracuse in Business major

Hi, I got accepted by both Syracuse Whitman and Fordham. I want to study in business major. I am struggling to make a decision betweeen these two schools.

I vistited both of them, and they look fine to me. They also gave me a good financial packages, but fordham give a little bit more..

I need professional advices who graduate either from Syracuse or Fordham. Any suggestions on job recruiting for these two schools would be great!

Need suggestions in a Hurry!!!!!Thanks!!!!

I’m not familiar with the two schools
but I will tell you how to find out the information.
I do think you have to find them and convince yourself that
“I think this is a better school and I should go there”
Hope my advices help.

Both schools are quite competitive and have similar rankings.
They are also pretty well-known in NY and those shouldnt be your considerations.
(Though I think Fordham might be a bit more famous for its business school?)
The starting salary for Syracus is $50000 and Fordham is $56000
according to Business Week.
But, you should check with the schools’ Career Center to find out more statistics,
especially the placement and average starting salary of your specific concentration.

Consider the location,
Syracuse is in Syracuse (Obviously)
and Fordham is in Bronx, NYC.
It’s not the center of NYC but its near Manhattan.
If you like city life or you think big city gives you more opportunity,
Fordham should be your choice.

Then you should compare their programs.
Both schools have common concentrations like finance and accounting,
but they also have different concentrations.
Syracuse has Retail Mgmt and Supply Chain Mgmt
while Fordham has Media Mgmt and Business Economics.
Are you interested in these topics? Perhaps as a second concentration?
Also look into other things they provide.
If you want to become an entrepreneur,
which school provides better extracurricular activities like business plan competition
or alumni network?

The last thing is to look at the schools’ other departments.
If you want to pursue a second degree or minor in another field,
which school seems to be more competitive in that area?
(Fordham has International Political Economy
do you like it?)
