Fordham University EA Class of 2019!

how did ya’ll got acceptance letter if the website said •Early Action (EA) applicants will be notified on or about December 20th. Admission Decisions will be delivered online only. Admitted students will receive additional information by mail after December 20th.

wen did you guys apply. I applied on Nov 9, 2014

I never sent my secondary h.s. report

@fahi12‌ first, breathe. second, I applied on 11/1, and you should probably send your school report like ASAP

@jaredstone4 how does ur school sent the school report. My school uses snail mail. My couselor opted to send it offline.

I really don’t like her. She doesn’t even do anything. another lady sits in the college office and does everything. I really can’t stand my school.

@fahi12‌ My counselor sent it electronically through Naviance.

you know what’s depressing my school is a career tech. school and the technology there sucks.

Hey!
So Fordham is my number 1 and I will cry a lot if i don’t get in.
1830 sat (i know i know :()) 4.2 GPA, Internships, great ECs and IB diploma candidate.
Hispanic Female
Applied Communications at Lincoln Center.
I NEED TO GET IN :((((((((((((((((

My D heard 11/24 by email. Thought it was a “nothing” email and deleted it. A friend told her to check again. I also received an email a few days later. Same information: more information and “official notice” coming in December, confirmed receipt of CSS Profile and told that FA info would be out by Jan 31. My D does not attend Catholic school, though we are Catholic. White, Female, AZ, (2160, 3.86/4.7).

I’m so nervous because I haven’t received an acceptance (checked spam too)! I applied 10/31. White Female 31 ACT, 3.7 GPA (blah) Hoping for the best!!!

Im a female, Hispanic from Westchester county in NY. I applied on October 28th EA but have yet to hear back from Fordham except for the financial aid checklist getting anxious as the date comes closer to hearing back. But congrats to you guys who got in. I hope I do too.

I am a student at a public high school of new york, and I am a little worried.
Basically, I’ve applied to Fordham University on Oct. 15, and I still haven’t heard back. I know that it says they will send out decisions by Dec. 20 but I know many people at my high school that already got their letters and got accepted. Now, this is what gets me worried. Fordham isn’t exactly my reach school. These are my stats:
ACT: 30 Composite,
GPA : 3.79 Unweighted, 4.04 Weighted
5 AP classes, 7 honors classes.

Should I be worried about not yet hearing back? I don’t understand how acceptance at fordham works, do they send out emails to every accepted student at once or do they send it out in batches? (Weekly, biweekly, etc.)
I am very worried because as I mentioned earlier, Fordham isn’t exactly a reach school for me, and not hearing back yet kills my hopes of getting into any other colleges I’ve applied to.
Thank you for your time!

see my response in other thread. relax.

@OlafTheSnowman‌, as far as I know Fordham hasn’t sent out any physical acceptance letters. What they have done is reach out to a few outstanding applicants via email letting them know that they will be accepted. Your stats are great and it’s no doubt that you’re a competitive applicant for Fordham, so I wouldn’t be worried. Why you or others weren’t included in that early acceptance round, idk. This admission game is really fickle.

We haven’t heard either, and my S has a 32 ACT, 3.93 wgpa, 9 AP courses, and mostly honors in everything else. Pretty good extracurriculars too. Others in our area with lesser stats have been accepted, but I’m not really worried.

Hi - applied EA to Gabelli but nervous about chances … thought maybe I’d get some insight from here

SAT I (breakdown): CR - 600 M- 630 W- 680 (Superscore)

Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
Intended Major: Finance
State (if domestic applicant): NYC

School Type: Small, Public (Ranked top school by US News)
Ethnicity: African American
Gender: M
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM - First Gen - low income

Which Gabelli? LC or RH? Will you be a resident student in dorms or commuter?

I do think your scores are good and in conjunction with being URM will help. Fordham actively seeking more URM’s, notably african americans. So I think you will be fine. As for financial aid I have no clue what they do. Perhaps there are some minority scholarships at Fordham that will help, I dont know. Otherwise they give out decent grants and then loans. Be careful however about loans. You dont want too much debt for undergrad school. Are you planning on getting an MBA?

question - does Fordham look at just Cr + M or the whole SAT score? My Cr + M score is pretty good (1220) but my writing score is horrendous :(( (550)

@fazeeeeeeel‌, they use the full SAT score (Cr+M+W). For the class of 2018, the middle 50% of accepted students had a SAT score from 1850-2050, but the middle 50% of enrolled students had 1790-2010. Your score isn’t far off so you still have a shot, it’s just up to the other parts of your app to seal the deal for you.
