Fordham vs Baruch vs RIT

Hi, I am senior and I don't know what school to pick.
I want to be management consultant but my GPA is not high enought to go to good school. I used to live in California but now I am living in N.Y.
I didn't really study when I was in california. I didn't think serious of going to college.

9th and 10th I got around 2.9
11th 3.3 W. 3.5
12th trying to get 3.6

I want to go to USC if I can, but i don't really have hope on them, just trying hard as I can.

So can you guys help me choose goods schools that fits me.
I searched them all but they were all good.
I heard good things about Baruch but in accounting major.
I am planning to transfer but there is time when it doesn't work out as you wanted. I wanted to prepare for that situation and want to go to business school with recognition.

Please help me!

P.S sorry for my bad english ....

Try for Fordham and your second choice should be Baruch. They both have decent palcement. Also, with a degree from this school you probably won't start at mckinsey, but fordham and then baruch have the better alumni connection and plus your in NYC os the oppurtunities are pretty good that you might start out with a decent place. PS management consulting takes a few years you will start out as an analyst.

^^ Basically agree with that

1)Fordham
2)Baruch
......

..............
................
3) RIT

i'd put baruch ahead of fordham.

If I make it to USC, should I go there definitely?
and including money and other stuff is fordham better than baruch?
What about RIT? it's not good compare to others?

thanks for the replies !! It really boost me up haha!

I have one more thing! I was thinking of Syracuse too but I didn't want to go there because it was a bit far, high price and I wanted to stay in NYC! That's why I don't like going to other states such Bently, BU... it's not like I am going to make it. (Cal is exception)

Is syracuse and fordham have big gap? and can you tell me any other good b-schools that are good for management consultant and fits my grade. (if it's for my career, I should go to other states if It's better)

and do i have shot at forham with gpa of 3.4~3.6 and ok SAT?

get at least 1200/1600 SAT and you should be fine for fordham, and maybe at least one subject test (sat ii). just hope you realize, that the business program at fordham is not at the lincoln center campus in manhattan, but at rose hill which is in the bronx. personally, i would go to baruch (i mean..i already do..and im liking it so far). they have amazing interneships available, a strong network, so people get out of there with some pretty decent jobs. i'm in the cuny honors college so you may want to look into it at baruch if you score at least a 1350+/1600 on the sat to make up for the gpa (plus a subject exam or two). i had a 93/100 avg in high school...top 9% (class size was 800+ seniors) but 2250 sat so it was okay. fordham is in a pretty nasty area from what i hear as i know people who go there, and i'm enjoying my time at baruch. (i'm assuming youll commute as it doesn't provide housing). have you taken the sat yet? what did you score?

syracuse is also in a bad area...there is no sense of community outside of the campus as there are a bunch of open properties and factories..on top of that it gets pretty cold up there.

You have those stats and ended up at Baruch? Poor kid. If only you knew what damage you did.

dont listen to above, he is clueless

I took SAT once but my tutor told me not to count it and just take it as practice, so I don't have grade for it.

Is Baruch and Fordham best school for me?
please give me your opinions thanks!

I would say they are your best bet. Baruch is a lot cheaper, but housing in the city isnt cheap and Baruch has no dorms. It really depends on how you like Fordham vs Baruch. I would personally recommend visiting both before making any decision.

MK..what are you talking about??

can I trust TheMK99?
I thought he knew what he was talking about
but alot of people saying negative thing about him.... hm...

More importantly, try to get into a well-respected MBA program, regardless as to where you go for your undergraduate degree.

if you wanna stay in NYC go to pace, ive heard there business school is pretty good for NY and its right by city hall

I attended Baruch many moons ago and majored in accounting. It was a great school in accounting and my understanding is that it still has a great program. In addition, CUNY is a LOT cheaper than attending most private schools. Finally, Baruch has a HUGE alumni base to draw upon for jobs and internships.

With all that said above, Baruch has two drawbacks:

It does not contain a campus. Thus, you will not have a normal college life. In addition. living in NYC is very expensive for housing. This may more than make up for the reduced tuition.

it boasts its 'vertical campus'...actually getting used to it, not so bad

You guys are getting so ridiculous.

1) Fordham is very good.
2) Then Baruch is kinda good. (You say its better than Fordham...)
3) Someone mentions Pace (is this a joke?)

What's next? Talking about Manhattan Community College and it's great placement rate at HBS?

Hey guys, does anyone know what campus of Fordham has the business program?

Wow... many people replied. Thanks alot!! and I agree with MK, I don't think Pace is good business school.
Business for Fordham is in Bronx, not in Manhattan. If that's what your are asking for.
