I will be a freshman next year and I was accepted to Fordham (Rose Hill), Eugene Lang College, and Pace. I'll be majoring in Political Science.

Pace gave me the presidential scholarship for $20,000 and I did not receive any merit money from Fordham or Lang.

I live in southern California right now but I really want to go to NYC for college. I visited all three schools with my parents, and I really liked the "campus" feel of Fordham, but my parents are concerned about the surrounding area.

I love Fordham’s Rose Hill campus. The campus is directly across the street from the Botanical Gardens and catty corner from the Bronx Zoo. It is totally fenced in with security and the campus seems very safe to me. I’ve been to many functions there after hours. Public transportation is literally on the same block and there is a van that makes regular rounds as well. I’d have no problem with the location.

EL is in Manhattan as is one of Pace’s campuses which puts you right in the middle of things, but you do miss out on that campus. It’s a great experience to go to school in the middle of Manhattan like that, an unprecedented opportunity to do so for most of us, at a discount, as Pace is offering you.

If you are thinking about law school (given you intend to be a political science major), save your money. Go to Pace. You can always go to Fordham Law or NYU Law. Then, you would be in NYC. Rose Hill is in the Bronx not Manhattan.
