im taking all 3 next year, sat 2 sat 1 and act
this is most stressful summer i had in terms of studying
when do u plan on working on yur app essay?

also wut did u score on each sat 1 section? i heard most colleges place most emphasis on math and reading

dang, good luck!
yeah i need to get to studying too,
the whole emphasis on math and reading sucks because my highest score is writing!
math: 540
reading: 540
writing: 570

GPA will hurt you because of your unweighted GPA being so low. Sorry.

thanks for your honest answer, do you have any other suggestions school wise?

howbout raising uw gpa?
also y u choose a college is just as important as preparing for it, can u write good essay on that?

yeah i’m definitely going to raise my gpa during the first quarter of my senior year.
and yeah im confident in writing a good essay! definitely applying early

If you’re applying early, the GPA you have now is what you’ll have at the time you apply.

yea and ppl who apply early stand out more, so they’ll notice mostly 11th grade stats

92jjxx: An applicant with a 2.9 and 1650 is not getting into NYU. Fordham’s a reach but with a good application and ED it seems possible. I agree with the SUNY suggestion (“lower” ones: Albany, Buffalo).

Other schools to consider: Pace, CUNYs Hunter and City College

last time i checked nyu’s website it said they accept ap’s or sat 2’s in place of sat 1, so its slimly possible
besides i thot nyu is more known for arts than academics

eh… even if s/he submits alternative scores, with the OPs GPA it really wouldn’t matter. Even with straight As for senior year, the GPA would still be way below NYU’s average.

and yes, while there is a great arts school at NYU, it also has Ivy-caliber business and law schools. And in terms of academia, a good number of Arts and Science programs are ranked either top 10 or top 20.

maybe thats y hillary clinton went there

wait, i thought if you applied early that they would at least take account for the first quarter of senior year

No, they’ll see mid-year grades and final grades. You’ll be applying to—and hearing from—colleges before you’ll receive mid-year or final grades.

wouldnt hurt to to apply EA. but applying regular decision gives you time to increase your GPA. good luck to you!!
