Foreign Language HELP!

so i need to complete my foreign language requirement, but i am SO confused.

anyways, i need 'completion of a fourth-semester college level foreign language course'. and i want to take korean.

first of all.. what do they mean by 4th semester? i was thinking i would have to take korean 4, but i don't even think there is a korean 4.

anyways, there is asianlan 135 - first year korean 1, which states that it is the first of the two-term sequence (ASIANLAN 135 and ASIANLAN 136). so if i take those 2 for this fall and next spring.. would i take asianlan 235 - second year korean 2, which is the first of the two-term sequence of Second-Year Korean (ASIANLAN 235 and 236)? and would that be considered 'completion of a fourth-semester college level foreign language course'?

ALSO.. there is ASIANLAN 138 - Reading and Writing Korean I, which will cover regular ASIANLAN 135 and 136 course materials in one academic term. It also is the first of the two-term sequence (ASIANLAN 138 and ASIANLAN 238).. so if i complete 138 in the fall and 238 in the spring, will that also be considered as 'completion of a fourth-semester college level foreign language course'?

sorry for this post for being so lengthy, but i seriously need help. thanks!

gee, is there no academic advisor at that school? Use the individual who has the specific training, and has the job of explaining such questions.

they don't reply to my emails -_-

During your orientation, you have to ask to take the korean placement test..and that'll place you in a class. I dont know which classes exactly count as 1st, 2nd, etc semester korean.

i'll be an incoming transfer student though, and i already registered for it. will they kick me out?

You can still take the placement exam the week before class starts. They won't kick you out, but if you take the exam..you might be able to place out of some of the korean and skip ahead. I'm not sure who you talk to regarding taking that placement test though..i think you should call the undergrad advising office.

I was told that the Japanese placement wasn't available during orientation and that I would have to wait until Sept. 4 methinks.
