Foreign language requirement at Wash U?

<p>I have been searching but can't seem to find out if Wash U requires entering students to pass a foreign language competency test or take a foreign language. My son has been accepted but this would be a deal breaker for him.</p>

<p>It’s not required for anyone.</p>

<p>On the new IQ requirement, there is a cluster for language which requires you to take 3 courses of foreign language or 4 courses of language related subjects. So if you are not interested in learning a foreign language, you can take the other option.</p>

<p>What is a language related subject?</p>

<p>Anything with the LCD (language and cultural diversity) designation at courses.wustl.edu</p>

<p>Most of those are really cultural classes, rather than language ones.</p>
