Foreign Language Teacher Recommendation?

<p>I am definitely sure that I should ask my foreign language teacher for her recommendation. She likes me a lot, and I am one of the best students she has ever encountered. However, her English is not very good, and I'm worried she will not be able to write a very effective recommendation. Would it be OK if she wrote the rec. in her native language? If not, what should I do??? Does anyone proofread recommendations? I REALLY need her recommendation, but I'm worried it might turn out badly.</p>

<p>I would say definitely NOT in her native language, how are adcoms supposed to understand!?!? You could ask for a copy of the letter to proofread, or explain in great detail exactly what she needs to write. Depending on what it is for, you could provide her with a resume that would help. I generally wouldn’t fret too much if she could write you an awesome rec.</p>
