I really want to get a recommendation from my world language teacher (I have had her for all 4 years of high school, I am taking the AP level with her this year). She has seen me grow and mature, and she has seen it all from the front lines. Naturally, I wish to obtain a recommendation from her. However, her English is not the best (you can usually understand what she is saying, but she mixes some things up). I have, in one occassion, helped her write an email to a colleague/supervisor, and I found many mistakes in her original writing. Do you guys have any advice for how to handle this situation? Should I get a recommendation from someone else?

I would be less concerned about her grammar and more concerned about her ability to writer a letter that focused, organized, and detailed. A letter that is perfectly grammatically perfect but full of generalizations doesn’t help anyone.

If English is not her native language, and a reader can guess that fact from her job and possibly also her name, then I imagine most readers would be completely understanding.
