<p>All the languages are available as classes, not just majors. Lots of people take classes in languages without majoring in it. Placement comes either in the form of AP exams or first-days placement tests.</p>

<p>Nope, all the 100 level classes are meant to be purely introductory, but they are very intensive and move quickly.</p>
<p>Also, all introductory language classes meet every day, so factor that into schedules</p>
