Forgot to bcc colleges in bulk email I sent out. Am I screwed?

I’ve been sending out a lot of emails updating colleges with additional info lately. I just realized that in one of them I sent it directly to all the colleges instead of bcc’ing everyone. Some colleges replied “thank you, we will add this email and its contents to your profile,” so I think admissions officers might be able to see some of the other colleges I am applying to when they review my application. Is this bad?

What’s done is done. Stop worrying about this.

Admissions officers know that you’re applying to other colleges. Penalizing you for that would be a pretty petty thing to do. The admissions process is more complicated than this.

How much additional info are you sending out? “A lot of emails” sounds a bit excessive.

I agree with @bjkmom . Sending a lot of emails will just annoy them. Stop.

A good way to show the lack of interest.

I wouldn’t worry too much. You’re just keeping them up-to-date. If you told each of them that they were your top-choice favorite college of all time–then you might want to email your admission counselor and maybe make a joke out of it i.e. “I didn’t intend for all the other schools to know you are my tippy-top favorite…etc.”

I think your GC can give you some good advice on this. Remember these admissions offices have seen heard everything, and that’s probably pretty minor…Good luck!

I would also suggest not blind cc’ing them. People know when they are blind cc’ed on something that you have sent it to others. If something is worthy of an update, take the time to send a personal e-mail to the school. Sending a lot of generic updates may not be the best way to communicate.
