<p>I'm a senior in high school and I completely forgot to submit my Cal Grant GPA verification that was due by March 4th. I know that in order to appeal and turn in the GPA verification late I must have something beyond my control that didn't enable me to submit it on time. My reasoning is that in early in early February, I was diagnosed with a heart abnormality that resulted in my heart rate speeding up to 140 + b.p.m. for hours at a time. It was pretty serious. On February 22 I had surgery to get rid of the heart condition and it was successful. By the 26th I was able to go back to school. The Cal Grant was honestly the last thing on my mind at that point as I was just thankful that my heart was back to normal. Would they consider this a valid excuse given that I still had a week to complete the Cal Grant after I got back to school?</p>
