Forgot to sign up for AP Exam - Possible Rescindment?

It was a busy day there were so many things on my mind I forgot to turn in the AP Exam Registration Form on the last day. I'm already accepted to UGA. Will they possibly cancel the acceptance?

I have heard that a few high schools require students to take AP exams if they enroll in AP courses, but the two things are really separate. One is a challenging course you take to enrich your knowledge. One is a standardized exam you pay a fee to take in order to provide standardized evidence of your mastery of the subject that offers you the possibility of receiving college credit for the course.

Many people choose not to take the AP exams for one or more of their AP courses senior year.

Some universities cap the number of credits for AP tests that freshman can bring in; if you’d already reached the limit, why spend the money to take the test? Some know that the particular test does not confer credit. There may be a variety of reasons people don’t take the AP exam.

I don’t think they do this anymore, but Harvard used to grant sophomore standing to anyone with 3 AP test of 4 or better, on an all-or-nothing basis. There would be no point in taking a fourth test. And if you weren’t considering accepting advanced standing, there would be no point in taking any of them if you were headed to Harvard.

I don’t think schools care (admission wise) if you take the AP exam or not your senior year. Obviously you will not get credit for the AP class at the college level if you do not take the exam.

Thank you for your replies. I’m also worried about my grade in AP Calculus which might end up being a C due to my personal problems. I got an A in Pre-Calc. I will try to get it up to a B but if things turn out bad should I be worried?

If all of your other grades stay the same , you should be okay. But it really depends on the college you have committed to.

I have never heard of ANY college’s offer contingent on taking or passing an AP exam. Back in the day: I was enrolled in SIX AP classes. My Ivy would not accept any credit so it would have been wasted money. I took no AP exams. Packed my bags in August and was on its doorstep w/o a care in the world.

T26E4- I was referring to the issue stated in post #4.

oops sorry. misread

Ditto. So many of my friends ended up not taking their AP exams because their college did not accept the AP classes they were taking. I took more AP exams Junior year than Senior year because of this.

a C is fine
