Forgotten Items on Move in Day....

What are some of the "small, dumb" things that you forgot to bring to college that you would never forget to bring again...or what is stuff that you realized after you got there that you needed but didn't think of bringing beforehand and had to run out and get?

remember bathroom materials. I went to college and realized I forgot to bring a towel, shampoo, etc.

power cord to my computer.

oops :)

small things are easiest to forget, such as batteries, double sided tape/wall hooks (for decorating), stamps, address book, camera, tylonel/allergy pills/other non prescription meds, brita water pitcher, pictures of family/friends/pets, nalgene bottle, portable coffee mug, cell phone charger, also, if you have a wacky or funny outfit, bring it to throw in the back of your closet! you will be very surprised how many theme parties you will encounter!

a stapler...that's crucial. I know it sounds stupid...but some of us forget these things:)

Address book. You need it if you want to send your friends something cool on their birthday/Christmas/whenever.

And if you're out buying a new one, seriously consider the high capacity staplers:

:)

I had to get nail clippers, cotton swabs, a coffee mug, and a power strip.

OTCs is def something to remember to bring. There's no more annoying trip to CVS than the one made to pick up medecine when you feel like crap.

I forgot to bring a cord to hook my computer to the internet and had to run to walmart and buy one among the massive crowds...

a small three whole punch and TYLENOL,, for mom and dad

legal sized envelopes. . . also I didn't have enough hangers. . . and when you try out pillows make sure you reallllly test them--I bought some that I thought I liked but it ended up squishing too flat when I actually slept with them, so if you buy pillows reallllly test them. I also reccomend spending the extra bucks to get a good alarm clock, one that has a nap function (you press the nap button and it will buz in however much time you set it for) and a sleep function where you can set how much time you want your alarm to go off in (like, when the alarm goes off you can set it to re beep in 5 min or an hour). Also you can never have enough AA batteries.

fan, a case of bottled water maybe, cell phone charger, scissors, retainer if you had braces, condoms (at least I'm brave enough to say it!).

I went to my school for an orientation type thing and I forgot to bring shower shoes, something that is very necessary for college. I probably won't forget that again.

but cant u buy most of these stuff till u've arrived school? I mean the stapler, batteries, hangers stuff

yes you can, but it's annoying and a hassle, especially when everybody's out having fun and you have to run to the store to buy stuff. it's a whole lot better to have things already with you.
