What are some items that you forgot to bring to college, but ended needing and purchasing near campus?

My guess would be: nail-clippers.

Anybody sophomores have experience with this?

Maturity .

A lot of people forget medicine (advil, nyquil, etc.)

I forgot to bring most of my socks to school last year…

My hairbrush.

And though I’m not sure it counts since I swear I remember packing it, but my toothbrush when missing during the move. >_>

Despite my aunt’s objections on move-in day, I have not forgotten a single thing that I have needed yet.

I bought another poster at a school poster sale, and some more food. But no essentials, really.

I forgot to bring my tooth brush and end up bought a new one

haha, I like the first response from chemically.

I second the ethernet cord. People don’t realize how useful it is in dorms with terrible internet. My suitemate last year said the internet in our dorm was awesome, but I was always complaing cause I was using the wireless. It was sooooo bad.

^yes! The only time I got a good connection was when there was a football game or around 11 when everyone was in class. Otherwise…I could get a better connection sitting in the middle of the hallway!

I forgot almost all of my shorts. I did laundry the day before I left and got a call from my mother that night about my clothes being in the dryer. Oy.

Febreeze. Gets smelly in the bathroom when a bunch of people taking a dump daily.

Last year my room had nice wireless 95% of the time. In my new room it is absolutely horrid, and the ethernet outlet is far from my desk, so I had to buy a longer ethernet cord.

I didn’t forget really anything that I can think of though. Last winter break I brought my bath towels home to get them washed, and I forgot to bring them back. So, I bought a new one from Target that had to last until I got my others back. I used a shirt to dry myself off when I took a shower and noticed I had no towels lol.

hair dryer.

Here is what we had to BUY after we got D to college last week. I should buy stock in Target!
Extra long extension cord. D’s dorm had a micro/fridge but only two outlets on the far side of the room. H spent much time on creative power sharing.
A surge protector also with a long cord - see above. The one we had brought had such a short cord she couldn’t charge her phone from her (lofted) bed - a big deal apparently…
Hair Dryer - didn’t really forget - we only have one a home and she’s not taking mine!
Ice cube trays for the micro/fridge We also bought her several large bottles of water for the fridge. Temps were in the high 90s and no A/C so water and ice were very welcome!
Paper Cups (see above)
Trashcan for room.
More command strips for hanging stuff on walls. D has hooks for everything from necklaces, bags, belts, pictures and room key. Love command strips! Can’t have too many.

The only thing we are going to buy her now is a wet swifter. Dorm has tile floors and we all agreed a little swifting now and then wouldn’t hurt at all. No rush on that though as I’m sure it’s not top on her list.

Umbrella, if you don’t like rain

I was going to post exactly what chemically said, but he beat me to it.

Don’t forget to bring a stapler and carry it around with you. I’ve always had to use a stapler and if they didn’t have one in the class I looked like an idiot bending the corner of my pages.

Tweezers, extra hangers, batteries for calculator, and bath towels (laid out but somehow didn’t get packed). oh, and feminine products.

I’m a senior now, but here are things I anticipate myself or others forgetting:
-Razor
-Comb/Brush
-Chargers for electronics
-Towels
-Swimsuit (if in a climate that accommodates swimming)
-Cutlery/Plates/Pans/etc.

Heavy duty toilet plunger

Condoms

Edible massage oil that heats up when you rub it or blow on it

Lysol or other disinfecting odor agents

Dental Dams

Lubricant

Ear Plugs

Wireless Alarm

Fire Escape Ladder

Screwdriver

Pepper Spray if allowed

My stuffed animal - twice…I am not forgetting you this time!!!
