Found a Large Envelope in the Mail Today...

Wow, congrats to everyone who got a likely!

Out of curiosity, do you guys mind posting what geographic region you're from?

Northeast: NY :D

aww... I guess that means I'm not getting one. Not that I expect one, but I am an URM.

Congrats everyone! Now hope for the rest of us.

If it were go get to NH... how long would it take from NY?

That's sweeeeet. Congrats everyone!

i got one too, screamed my head off!

What is a URM?

under represented minority

what are the chances of being accepted after not getting a likely letter?? :(

congrats guys!

just out of curiosity, is this for first year applicants? or transfers?

First year applicants. transfers don't get anything till around May..

Likely letters are only sent out to a small percentage of accepted students. If you didn't get one, don't lose hope!

did anyone who applied to HumEc get a likely letter?

Yup, I got the same letter today! I applied to CAS. For people who didn't get a letter: don't worry, just relax and you'll find out soon.

I live in Michigan; would I still have chance to receive it?

Still a chance. It seems as though the ones that were received today were for URM's as it has a line in there saying something about the minority recruitment line.

But I'd say unless they're sending out some more, you probably won't get one as TX is considerably further from NY than Mich.

I am an URM. I dunno... I could've received it but have no idea because all mails were returned because my mailbox had a "vacant" sign in it. realized it was there only a few days ago (since I moved to Ann Arbor just two weeks ago)... argh.

That is highly unfortunate... Will you get all that mail back?

Hopefully things work out, admissions is strange this year for me... Likely from Cornell, waitlisted at WashU... more to come later. Gross.

I have no idea how I will get the mails back... I'm hoping among them was a likely letter for me but I know I shouldn't get my hopes too high...

it's going to be a long March for me...

I don't know if you meant this... but that sentence has a clever double meaning. ^^^

Good Luck everyone, and don't despair, very very very few people get likely letters.

Wow guys! congrats!
Fellow urm here.

Mailbox = empty = fail :(
