Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the University one is? The Cuse website doesn't mention it.

No idea, but I don't know of any Newhouse peeps who got it, regardless of grades, etc....Please post if that is incorrect....May be a school specific??

I agree with Rice 12345 that the University scholarship is clearly not about the SAT as my daughter received both Founders and University and others with higher SAT's got only Founders. My daughter was accepted into Arts and Sciences, and had what I would consider good EC's and just 2 leadership positions. She did do an interview in November at Lubin House in NYC. We were told during the summer tour at the school that doing an interview would be helpful to serious candidates. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? The letter does say though that the $18,000 in scholarships is merit based.

Yeah, I'm thinking the University one may be school specific, cause I don't think I've heard anyone in architecture with it, but I could be mistaken.

Peachy: Yes, my d interviewed at Lubin House as well....but you may be on to something...Can everyone who received University scholarship chime in with which school you have been admitted to?

Business school

Arts and Sciences

I received a university scholarship for 4000 a year and the chancellors scholarship for 8000 a year. I applied to CAS.

1350 / 2000 ... i'm kind of surprised they gave me all that, but certainly not going to complain

Maybe the University one may be based on need. Since if I had gotten one, then I'd be paying less than what most schools are expecting me to pay.

its definitely merit based. i got my scholarship pack way before my financial aid (which i got today and offered me practically nothing)

Well some scholarships are need-based. Most schools want me to pay X based off my need, so they gave me a merit or need scholarship to get me to around the area of X, then filled in the rest of loans. Which looks to be what 'cuse did.

Actually, I don't even know why I'm so interested in finding out what this University Scholarship is, I'm most likely not going to Cuse even though I love it.

same actually
