FOUR finals in TWO days. yikes, advice?

so my classes next quarter have a messed up final schedule.

two finals on 3/19, back to back.
and then another two finals on 3/22, back to back.

what am i going to do? i really do NOT think i can handle this. people have said: "oh, just study early and manage your time"-- but ANYONE who knows me knows that i cannot do either. (i'll try, but most likely it wont work out).

should i try switching out? i really think i should. but all the other classes are seriously soo full. totally stumped on this one. advice, anyone?

i would definitely get try to get into other lectures, etc. even if you have to work with an uglier schedule, it will be worth it. if you absolutely have to, consider dropping a class.

some people can do 4 finals in 2 days. other people cant. i know i fall into the latter category. i had finals in chem 30a and LS2 last quarter. im pretty sure i would have gotten higher than a B- final grade had the LS final been on a different day. i was stressing for chem and after that was over, i was burnt out and couldnt really study for LS.

you know yourself much better than anyone else does. if you really dont think you could do it, then dont do it.

are they all hard classes? i had two finals half an hour apart last quarter, but it turned out not to be too bad since one of the classes was much easier..

but i wholeheartedly agree with VTECaddict on gauging yourself and seeing how much is too much...

That's not that bad. It's actually more like in 4 days. I think it just comes down to whether you think you can do just as well with back-to-back tests. Anyhow, this way you get full days to study instead of having to study and take a final on the same day! :D

That's way too much- 3 finals in 2 days is too much, let alone 4. Add another class with a different final time slot and after the first week, decide which classes are manageable.

Finals week-wise, my schedule is ideal- nothing during finals week! Just two finals during week 10. Ah, a two week spring break. :D

luuuuuucky

I don't recommend two back to back finals, let alone back to back on day one and back to back on day two.

If you think you can handle it, go for it. I never had a class that gave finals for 3 hours (transfer student), and this semester was my first back to back final. I studied about a week and a half before finals for the harder final, and less for the easier final. When I took the first final, I was SO wasted. I had to take my next final 20 minutes later and I could barely remember anything I studied (The second final was the harder final). I even had a hard time getting up to turn in my test. My friends took the same first final and wondered how I would manage because they felt like crap as well. The result was that I didn't do too well on the harder final.

I know I can probably manage if I have to do it again, but the bad grade is on my record now. I would recommend if you can avoid it, you should do so.

i just re-read the original post. looks like the test days are 2 days apart, which is a little better. it can be doable IF you think you can handle back to back finals and IF you can get yourself to buckle down to at the very least follow this schedule:

17th - hardcore study class 1
18th - hardcore study class 2
19th - test day #1
20th - hardcore study class 3
21st - hardcore study class 4
22nd - test day #2

IF...

During sophomore year, I once had three consecutive finals: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
Never again...

I had two days with two finals this last quarter at IR/PS, but I don't recommend it.

Try to see if you can't maybe switch out of a lecture. Oh, and Friday finals suck. Just my opinion...

Friday finals DO suck. big time.
