Freshman: 3 finals in 3 days?

The final schedule I'm looking at right now for this fall semester is: Math 1A, Chem 1A, History 24 (Freshman seminar), and History 5.

With that schedule, my Chem final would be on the 12th, Math on the 13th, and History on the 14th. I'm only taking 13 units, but I'm worried that this would be a crazy idea. Is this commonplace? Would you advise against doing so? All four classes are classes that I'm interested in; however, I don't want to kill myself either.

It's better than having two or more finals on the same day. :X

That sounds awful...did you ever have to deal with that? I actually was originally planning to take sociology until I realized that that would = 3 finals in two days.

Would you advise that I try to find another class that would allow me some time in between? Or is this doable?

Edit: Just looking at the schedule...it seems as if a lot of classes, at least of the ones that I'm interested in, will have their final on Dec. 14. Which means that I'm not the only one in this situation, right? So once again...do a lot of people have this sorta schedule? Is it worth it?

Its doable. Just dont try to cram at the last minute. You should be fine, and think, you'll be done with finals early. It sucks when you have a final on the last day.

yeah, a lot of people have finals consecutively; it's not very unusual to even have two finals in one day. you should be all right; also look @ what times the finals are. e.g., is the one on dec. 12 from 5-8pm and then the one on dec, 13 from 8am-11am? or are they both 8-11am?

That is typical. Just don't plan to begin studying the day before. Studying for college exams begins from the very first week...with spikes before midterms and the final.

that's funny - i took 3 of those classes (math 1a, chem 1a, history 5) my first semester. i also had 3 finals in two days at the end of that same semester. i'd say just be grateful you don't have 3 in one day (that happened to my friend) ! the chem1a/history 5 combination was definitely large chunk of time. i personally really liked history 5 (i had it with anderson - she was great). make sure you stay on top of your readings each of course (also figuring out which are the more important documents to read).

Alright, thanks a lot everyone! I'll look at this first semester as motivation to stop my bad procrastination habits...
