2 finals on the same day.

So, during the stress of the orientation class sign-up I ended up getting my two top-choice classes, but my third class, Music History: Bethoven, has a final that conflicts with one of my other classes in terms of days.

Does anyone one know if the music history professors are very lenient with their final schedules, or if I can probably request to take it one day early?

Also, is two finals on one day insanely difficult to study for or is it manageable?

Thirdly, how great are my chances of switching out of this class on september 1st to any other G.E that I can get my hands on?

1) Most professors are pretty inflexible with their finals schedule unless theres an emergency.
2) Two finals a day aren’t bad. I did it last quarter and did fine. Obviously it’s preferrable to spread them out but it’s not the end of the world if you can’t.
3) If you monitor the schedule of classes carefully you should find openings. Checking every day, or multiple times a day, for openings has always worked for me eventually. I suggest bookmarking the enrollment pages for the classes you want and checking them every time you go on your computer or have nothing to do.

As long as they do not have conflicting times, it should be okay.

I’ve had 2 finals in 1 day before. Obviously it’s not the most amazing thing ever and you’ll feel burned out when you’re finished, but it’s completely doable.

Are they within 30 minutes or less of each other? That might be a marathon especially since doing 2 final exams consecutively is kinda rough on the mind. If they’re several hours apart, then it’s much easier since you can use that gap to grab some food or take a nap.

Yup, 30 minutes apart…

I did 2 in 1 day at least 4 times, including back-to-back. It’s not a big deal, and chances are, even if you avoid it this quarter, you’ll probably run into it eventually.

It’s not impossible, and it’s something you’re probably going to have to do eventually, but it’s probably worth avoiding your first quarter, unless you’re especially interested in Beethoven.

I prefer having 2 finals in one day. Get that ***** over with.

I have a chem final and an ls final 30 minutes apart on Monday. It’s going to be hell but on the bright side no more finals for the rest of the week!

You are eventually going to have back to back finals. If you are lucky they are later in finals week so you have a longer time to study. If you start studying early, you should be able to manage studying two finals in one day. The only problem will be the mental fatigue so make sure you get enough rest, you don’t want to be pulling all nighters if you have two back to back finals
