So..I haven't received my cal grant or my ug scholarship, and I got an email from fpf saying it might be delayed because of some problem they have getting units on the computer..but its getting late and move in day is Saturday(!) so I'm pretty worried. Anyone else having his problem?? It would help a lot if I knew I wasn't the only one...

Contact Financial Aid by phone to see what’s up. Or you can go in person next week after you move in. Don’t worry about financial aid conflicting with your move-in process or classes. It’s not like they won’t let you move in or anything.

What’s this delay with FPF? Like they won’t be starting classes on time?

They said that to receive aid, you have to be enrolled atleast half time, and they haven’t been able to put our units into the computer or something so right now I guess I’m not enrolled?
Yeah that’s what I was planning on doing.

What exactly is the issue with your Cal Grant? I’m FPF as well and I’m having problems with that, but my FAFSA and loans have paid already.

I guess for the cal grant to pay out, you have to be enrolled atleast half time. I got an email saying they are behind on getting our units in, so right now it doesn’t show that I’m enrolled. Also, my cal grant still says “estimated”. Yea I’m not getting loans but I think some other stuff has paid out…

I have the same problem! I called the financial aid office and they said that they weren’t in charge of that, so they gave me the email for the Cal Grant analyst who, after a week of emails, has yet to have done anything. I’m just stressing because I have my housing payment coming up on the first and I have no money to put toward it.

I know it sucks…and I also can’t figure out how meal plans and all that other stuff works if I haven’t paid room and board…i guess all we can do is wait I’m gonna try calling them again.

If you do manage to get through, tell me how that goes. I guess we’ll most likely have to just wait for next week to go to the financial aid office in person.

Hey I don’t know if this helps (because I know that some people have gotten calgrants already) but this is what I saw when I went to the webgrants site.

Payment Updates

2009-10 Payments
2009-10 Cal Grant disbursements, including summer term payments, continue to be on hold due to the state’s funding shortfall. CSAC cannot disburse these funds until we receive authorization from the Department of Finance.

2010-11 Payments
2010-11 Cal Grant payments will not be made until the 2010-11 California state budget is passed and signed by the Governor.

So yea…:/

“Campuses in the University of California and California State University systems will front the Cal Grant money to their students, then get reimbursed when a budget is signed.”
