Hey,
My name's Andrew Hsu and I enrolled in FPF in early July 2009. I came home from my summer trip with an awesome lottery number of 268/280 males in FPF, so I've been looking for a good solution for good housing options in the Cal area. The best solution I could come up with was to search for an apartment around the area, but didn't really want to live with significantly older students or pay a whole bunch of money for a single apartment-- so i'm looking for a few potential FPF roommates (probably 1-3) to live with and split the costs with (looking at probably 600-800 per month). Another reason I'd want to live with FPF students is because it'd be preferable to live with others that are taking the same classes and hanging out with the same people.
I have not yet located the apartment (I need to see how many people are interested first) but will be going up to the Berkeley area on Tuesday.
A bit about myself: I'm a Santa Barbara, CA native, an ME major, really outgoing, plan to spend lots of time studying but also would definitely want some time/room to relax and hang out with friends. I'm usually pretty friendly with everyone, so although I'd prefer to live with people like me, I'm really open to anyone. Please contact me if interested at andrewhsu42@gmail.com or andrew_hsu@berkeley.edu. Thanks,
Andrew

I'm also fine with both girl and guy roommates, as long as we're in separate rooms. Thanks

I haven’t! Thanks for the reply, but I really would prefer some FPF roommates, and I thought it’d be easier to reach them on cc. I guess beggars can’t be choosers though… I might have to do that soon.

Have you tried Telegraph Commons? A few of my friends are staying there and almost everyone is in FPF. However, I’m not sure if they still have vacancy though.

Blehhh so many replies, yet no takers… but I thank you all for your input. I was hoping that I’d get some people, but I did realize that it’s very close to the start of school… and that i’d probably be relying on a total of about 150 people to answer. I forgot that FPF was that small :P. But I really want to move into dorms next semester, so I can’t do the whole yearlong contract with places such as Tau and others. I tried calling Westminster today (they didn’t pick up) but I thought for some reason that they had a yearlong contract? Maybe not. But unfortunately, Commons has been full since last week. It’s all good though, this whole FPF roommate thing is just a plus. I’ve been assured that there are plenty of nice places to live-- I just might not get a nice place as cheap and with as good of a roommate as I had hoped. Oh well… there are pluses to having a private apartment ;)
