Frankie Telfort--Trojan Family Story

One of the most promising 2009 recruits for Pete Carroll was Frankie Telfort from Miami, Florida. Telfort, an excellent student, was planning on majoring in pre-med at SC despite expecting to play with the first team for Coach Carroll.
This month it was discovered Frankie has a heart condition which will keep him from ever playing college football.
The positive news for all those in the Trojan family is Frankie will keep his scholarship and be able to continue his studies at the university.

I’m glad that USC will let him keep his scholarship. This makes me proud to be a member of the Trojan Family. Our hearts go out to the Telfort family. Fight On!

that’s beautiful.

FIGHT ON!!

That’s amazing.

Also in similar news, one of the top quarterback recruits for 2010, Jesse Scroggins, announced last week he would commit to USC. Scroggins is turning down several top programs including last year’s National Champion, the University of Florida. Coach Carroll proves once again that USC is one of the most desirable teams for up and coming football stars. This year, following Mark Sanchez’s highly publicized decision not to play this upcoming season, USC will demonstrate it’s incredible depth chart in almost every position as it replaces starters with a wealth of top notch talent, especially new quarterback Aaron Corp.

Why does a superstar high school quarterback sign with a school that has so much talent to compete with? I mean, if Scroggins had signed with Tennessee odds are he would have had a starter position in a couple of years without much of a fight. Florida is also dying to find out who will be replacing Tebow in the next couple of seasons. So why SC? Why deal with the competition and the possibility of getting overshadowed by a guy like freshman Matt Barkley (the Gatorade National Athlete of the Year and the top quarterback nationally of his graduating class).

Maybe it has to do the fact few schools have put as many players in starting roles in NFL teams in the last ten years as USC has. If this is the way USC is running its incredible football program… I wonder if it translates into other areas of the school? ;]

Fight On!

Mustain, Corp, Barkley, Scroggins. USC is so underrated when it comes to QB depth. Year after year, future college hall of famer Pete Carroll stacks the depth charts at every position. The players that commit to USC realize that a few years on the bench is worth playing for a true NFL pipeline. Fight On!
